I'm defying my age. I'm defying my gender. I'm defying propriety and good taste. Tonight, I'm feeling defiant. The pictures below are what you get when you break some rules.
You're my audience, you're my judge. What's the verdict?
Yay!! I love your rule-breaking! Your outfits are creative, and I love seeing the hat and specs for the first time. They look very retro with a hip, modern outfit. It's a cool juxtaposition.
Is that a new haircut/wig? I love the little details that you added: the glasses, hat, belt, necklace and everything! Your make-up classes with Debbie obviously did the trick!! You're on your way of being a femme-fatale!! Kisses :)
Beautiful! Those glasses are awesome and suit you so much. Love those ruffles, too. You have fabulous legs, it would be a crime not to show them off. xxx
Yay for defiance! This is a very cute outfit! The cat-eye glasses and the hat are both spectacular and suit you very well. I don't think it's too age-defying or whatever because I generally don't believe in age-dependent rules for fashion (at least I try). Make-up-wise, I'm thinking that slightly less flashy colors would complement the outfit a little better, but I'm by no means a make-up expert, and there's definitely an improvement :)
loving the skirt with those booties, and those cats eye glasses are to die for! I would pass on the blue eye shadow, but thats just me. I shy away from any color on my face... maybe i should be more adventurous like you!
I've never worn blue eyeshadow in my entire life. When I was growing up, blue eyeshadow was considered pedestrian and even gauche. I tried it last night specifically to break that barrier, which is why I wrote I defying good taste. That choice was sort of a joke which many of you are seeing differently than intended -- but that's okay, you are all entitled to your view. Certainly, you don't know the context of my decision to pick it.
Many times, an act or choice I make has a vastly different significance to me than it does to some of you. Which is fine; I find that interesting. I love and learn from your reactions, whatever they are. Thank you for voicing them!
Super cute and sexy looks. I love them all. I love cat-eyed glasses. Before I had lasik, I wore the modern version of those and I loved them. But seeing without glasses just sounded super appealing. But I digress. You inspire me to be more playful and defy whatever I want to defy.
you look fantastic! i love the experimenting. i like the more simple looks- the make up and gloves and hats is a lot but you have such a great figure and a terrific smile!! those boots are so so so cute! <3 mode. http://modestylist.blogspot.com
Whoever helped you figure out make-up did an awesome job! I definitely see the improvement in application as opposed to before. Not that I know a damn thing about make-up...maybe you could pass along your new found skill set to me...hahaha.
Oh baby, those glasses are just too fabulous for words. Love the rule breaking, the edginess, the sassiness ... but I don't do blue eyeshadow ... lol ... was told that only ladies of the night wore it ;-)
Awesome post! Red is a great color for you. I WANT THOSE GLASSES! They have such a vintage vibe. They are so adorable. I think you should always try to push the boundaries and experiment with some bold things. Fashion is getting more daring every day and now things that were once considered fashion mistakes are encouraged. Like mixing prints, wearing black and brown, etc. Now is a great time to experiment and try out awesome outfits like this!
this is very stylish and classic, i think i love the cat's eye glasses, the armcuff gloves (? am i right?),the shiny booties and the tutu, your make-up had improved immensely...
Haha, I love them ! Every single one of them - well except the one with the glasses. You look fabulous and most important you seem to be enjoying every bit of them! Which is my favorite part. Your make up skills are improving by the second :)
Well, one minute your comment is on my blog and the next one it' s gone...dunno what happend, sorry ' bout that. I must have clicked some link I shouldn' t have. I can die my hair red all I want, but I'll still be a blonde...But thank you for liking my pictures and blog!
