Back To Basics

It's been a long time since I did an outfit-post.  I have to tell you that I've missed it.  Work and other factors prevented my playing with clothes and I've been sad about that.  I'm really hooked on this hobby.  :)

I have nothing new or fancy to show you, just a return to basics.  I combined a few items in my closet in a way I hope is attractive.  Let me know whether I've succeeded and please suggest any improvements.  I learn so much from you guys!

  1. Yay :) I've missed your outfit posts.

I would add some color! That's my only suggestion. Love those wedges, by the way.

  2. I just bought a pair of shoes like these this past weekend! I must say that you have a great pair of legs! I like the outfits you've put together, though my g-friends would probably tell me to add "a pop of color."

  7. I really like this outfit with the cardigan - and love the double animal print with the bag added!

I'd like to see a pop of colour with the necklace. Maybe a nice turquoise? Red? Yellow?

    God, you have killer legs!

  8. Yay!!! Outfit poooost! You look great - we missed your legs! (I need to start working out obviously...!). I agree with everybody else! Congrats for being bold and mixing patterns, but some colour (I'm with Sheila: bright red, turquoise, orange, green or yellow...). It could have been a big statement necklace or a belt, different shoes or bangles maybe? But you're evolving and I like your classic influences.

  9. I may be in the minority, but I love the elegance of pure black and white. It's timeless and always a great look. This is such a classy outfit you put together!! I LOVE IT!!! ~Serene

  10. This was a very nice dress, so elegant. In my opinion, everyone needs a dress like that =)

  11. Love the wedges - and the bolero is divine. I'd like to see some red thrown in the mix (but that's just because I love some red mixed in with black and white). You look stunning and I've missed your outfit posts :-) Thanks for playing and allowing us to enjoy.

  13. YES. Both outfits with a big, bright red bag. I've been craving one since last fall and still haven't picked one up.

Glad you're back! We've missed your outfits.

  14. Love the animal print cardi, especially when you pair it with the animal print purse. A bold red necklace or bracelet would go great with it.

  15. Like everyone else, I think you need a totally awesome pop of color somewhere. I love pops of color against a neutral outfit - especially black and white.
You are after my own heart ...

  18. This is a really great, classic outfit! And I agree with the previous commenters - a pop of color would make it perfect.

  19. I like it. My fave is the one where you have two patterns one in the bag and the other on the cardi.
BTW I just might steal these two items from you-

  20. Of course, my fave is the one where you're lying on the counter. Such confidence and happiness exuded there!!

I agree with some others - I don't know if I'd even consider these "basic." I think they're very well-done and coordinated so nicely. I also agree that sometimes an outfit just calls for simple black and white. Love the mixing of prints and the way you styled the scarf.

Shoot, I never did get some of those wedges...I wonder if they still have them??

  22. I adore that cardigan. It's a great cut on you and the neckline is perfect with the dress.

  23. The bolero really helps balance your shoulders with your hips optically. It works very well, I think you should get more boleros
