Yesterday, I showed you my cool men's shirt with the embroidered image of my Yamaha motorcycle. In the comments, Emma and a few others challenged me to wear the shirt as a woman might. That got me thinking...
I dug the shirt out, decided on an approach (colorful and sassy) and put together an outfit from scraps lying in my closet. What do you think??
Ally! This rocks! I love your spirit! You succeeded in the challenge!
ReplyDeleteI love this! What a fun thing to do, and you picked a combination of blues that really flatter. Good job!
ReplyDeleteLove it! Whenever I wear a button-down shirt, I always feel more feminine when I undo a few buttons. Just enough to be sexy but not too revealing. The bows on your flats are adorable too.
ReplyDeleteWell you have totally nailed this! I've been so intrigued by men's shirts lately (especially white men's shirts) and how perfect they are for women! And you've just made the case right there Counsellor! (Is that how to spell the attorney reference???) Serene
ReplyDeleteMenswear looks great on women, and I absolutely love how you put those two different shades of blue together. I think that's something I don't think about doing a lot, even though I'm not usually one to be overly matchy. I think I will be thinking about it more often now! Great look.
ReplyDeleteI love this look, especially with that skirt!
ReplyDeleteI just commented on how much I like men's wear on women! Your shirt is perfect with that skirt!
ReplyDeleteAlso, you have phenomenal skin! What are your secrets? (You must be a helmet wearer...)
Ha! This is awesome! Glad you took on the challenge and the shirt is perfectly paired with your pretty blue skirt.
ReplyDeleteExcellent idea!! Buttondown shirts always make me feel sexy. Something about 'em. And omg that blue is just marvelous! The bows on your flats are a great touch.
ReplyDeletePretty in blue, that's you! Like others have commented, I like a menswear shirt with a few buttons undone - and pearls. Add tulle skirt - and I'm a legend in my own mind! :)
ReplyDeleteYou say "scraps", we see "outfit"! Wonderfully done! You have the benefit of the shirt fitting you... there are so many men's shirts out there that I love that I simply swim in.
ReplyDeleteYour skin is phenomenal =]. Is that dress/skirt velvet? I am in LOVE with velvet this year. I'm so glad it's coming back.
ReplyDeleteMy first reaction- OMG CUTE!!! :)
ReplyDeleteThe blue of the dress matches the blue bike, ahhhhhhhh
ReplyDeleteI wish I could steel it, ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
happy weekend.

Challenge success! It looks great!!! I love all the blues that all start in the embroidery!
ReplyDeleteThat was my intent.
DeleteOh. My. Gosh. This is even better than I could have expected! I love how you matched to the blue in the bike. I think I'm going to have to copy this look myself...well done :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Emma. You were the catalyst for this.
DeleteThe choice of blues compliment it so well! And that scarf is such an excellent 'feminine' touch. Well done!
ReplyDeleteI saw this when you posted it on twitter, but I was on my phone and did not comment. So here is my comment :) You look great! I love the shirt, it is very you and it goes well with that skirt.
ReplyDeleteYou styled this so wonderfully! I adore the blue tights, cute bowl flats, and that classic pencil skirt. I'd been thinking 40s pin-up for the direction in which to take that shirt, but I like your spin on it even more. Beautiful outfit, Ally!

I also love the combination of blues you chosen. That is a great style technique. You put together this men's shirt in a feminine way superbly. Those bow flats are darling.
ReplyDeleteI like it a lot! How fun!
