I never spend more than $20 on women's shoes. I know that's a ridiculously low sum, but it helps me feel better about buying stuff that doesn't get used much in real life.
A few months ago, I passed by an Aerosoles store and, amid boring styles, a beautiful pair of purple Maryjane pumps with gold stitching caught my eye. They are gorgeous! Suede, a beautiful shade of purple, and the gold is a lovely accent. I truly fell in love with the shoes. Plus, I've been wanting to add a pair of Maryjanes to my collection 'cause I've never had one.
I was crestfallen when I saw the price -- $89. Not even close to my limit. I would have stretched up to $30 or even $40, but $89 was an absolute no.
Cut to today. I'm browsing the Aerosoles website and, with no hope or expectation, head to the Clearance section. There they are! My shoes! At... [drumroll, please]... $19!!
Shoot, score! I snatched up a pair before they could run out of them.
Here's how lovely they look. Fate means for me to have them. Has this ever happened to you?
It happened recently with some boots I got at a bargain. But wow, you lucked out and got some fab shoes.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I have tried 3 times to post comments on your blog and for some reason gremlins keep eating them. I hope this one gets through!
It happens all the time. Just when I give up on something, POW! it goes on sale. The shoes are beautiful and purple is my favorite color so I love these. Aerosoles are really comfortable too, so you should love them. Heather
ReplyDeleteThose are gorgeous! I love successful purchases/surprises like that.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was a young mom in my late 20's I was shopping in a section of Nordstrom where I shouldn't have been and found the most beautiful dark green velvet button up shirt on a sale rack. The sale price was 100.00 and there was just no way I could afford it, even if I fed my kids mac and cheese for a week. But I dreamed of owning a forest green velvet shirt like that to the point of drooling.
I left and headed to the grocery store at Fred Meyer. Before heading over to the food section I remember thinking to myself, "I wonder if I would ever find anything like that green shirt in Fred Meyer on a sale rack." Well, as I combed through the clearance rack out popped a dark green velvet button up shirt in my size!! Guess how much? 19.00!!!
Have fun with your new shoes!
Those are absolutely gorgeous shoes! What luck to find them on sale and in your size!
ReplyDeleteYes to the latter point! Thank you for being aware of my struggle with size.
DeleteGorgeous! And those are Fate Shoes!! I can't wait to see what you style them with, they're a fun shoe that I think will go with a bunch of outfits.
ReplyDeleteI consider almost all of my shoes fate in some way. I usually wait down sales if buying retail, but more often I have to cross my fingers and hit the auctions on eBay. I set a hard limit on what I'm willing to spend and never bid over that amount. If I win, I won! If not, I feel like the other person wanted them more and I continue on the hunt.
Those purple shoes are amazing. Can't wait to see how you style them! :)
ReplyDeleteOoh! Great score!
ReplyDeleteNo way!!! You lucky ducky you! That never happens to me. Looks to me like you outdid my Sunday Snag! lol ;-)

ReplyDeleteFantastic shoes!!! It definitely was fate! I have had that happen to me once or twice but it's been pretty rare.
ReplyDeleteoh my word, YES! It's definitely fate! I can't believe that those are only $19! They look amazing. I'm like you, and I never go over a a certain price for shoes. Mine's at $50 right now, but it's rare that I even go that high most times ;)
ReplyDeleteThank you so very much for your sweet comment! It's such a warm feeling to get so much support!

They are gorgeous and at $19.00 - I would have grabbed them, too! Enjoy!!!
ReplyDeleteFantastic! Good for you! They have a vintage vibe to them - and since they're Aerosoles they will be comfy as well!
ReplyDeleteGreat find Ally. It was fate and destiny, I know you have trouble finding your size.
ReplyDeleteI once found a dress I loved at half price! I had bought the matching bag as I thought it so unlikely I would afford the dress, then, bam! 50% off.
Oh Ally, you are leading me in to temptation! I'm actually wearing a pair of Aerosoles pumps right now and they are fabulously comfortable, I hope you'll find your purple mary janes to be just the same.
ReplyDeletethose ARE cute!! I am so glad you got them. I have that happen all the time- however, I am not surprised as I love Wayne Dyer and Deepak Chopra and all they always talk about in terms of 'creating' and 'attracting' :)
