Wacky Ally

Have you ever worn anything wacky?

Last week I found a top in a store; I believe it's a tunic. It has 3-dimensional plastic flowers which mesmerize me. And it's bright orange which is a striking color. Best of all, it has tiered ruffles on the sleeves.

This is the type of rare garment that makes my heart sing. Sure, it's bizarre. Yes, it's impossible to integrate into an outfit. But it makes me happy. So I'm wearing it with matching jewelry and lip-color.

Again, I ask you -- have you ever worn anything this wacky?

  1. Puh-leez, girlfriend, you are talking to the queen of wacky! I LOVE this tunic/top and would totally wear it. I'd do a big wide belt and wear it with the bottom hem peplummed out over a pencil skirt - heck, I would wear that to work! I love that your heart sings for stuff like this - I love your shopping taste (it's very much like mine...shiiiiiiny....).

  2. LOVE LOVE LOVE this top Ally ... I don't find it wacky at all! I would definitely wear that over a pair of jeans. And the matching jewellery is awesome!!!

  3. I had the same notion that Sheila shared to "belt it" and create the peplum effect. The only thing that is wacky about this top are perhaps the dimensional details and if they make your heart sing you simply MUST make it your own!
I like your pairing with the windowpane tights Ally!

  4. Well, there's a time and place for wacky... Although this is more fun than wacky. And perfectly ok worn with any number of things: leggings, jeans, pencil skirt...
Wacky for me is what I used to wear as a fashion student: neon green transparent top, a hot pink fake furcoat...

    2. No, I'm afraid not. That was the 80's; we didn't photograph every moment of our lives back then...

  5. I used to wear marabou feathers in my hair, stars on my face, glitter as eyeliner, feather boa trimmed tops ... all at the same time, that's as wacky as it got!

  8. If that is wacky I shall eat it. Not to this fashionista, it is simply fabulous and looks like it was plucked from the runway. The color, embellishment, and tiered sleeves feels like Mui Mui or Prada , and is something very wonderful! Love how you styled it! Love the bold color!

Do you secretly hate your wacky side or just the rop?

  13. I love the way you styled this. It reminds me of pictures I've seen of girls in the 60s who wore patterned tights with mini-dresses.

  14. It's FABULOUS!!! Or, should I say, given its vibrant orange hue, fall-bulous! :) Such a fun, exciting piece and addition to your wardrobe.

I'm all for a bit of kitschy/wackiness in fashion. Life is too short to wear cookie cutter styles.

  15. I love all that colour, I would probably wear it as a dress cause I am so short, I could get away with that.
