Living The Dream

I dreamed for years about being a woman.  Decades, actually.  And when I dreamed, I didn't fantasize about wearing a frumpy housecoat.  Or boyfriend-jeans.  No, I dreamed about feminine dresses and pretty gowns.  Elegant heels and dainty jewelry.  I dreamed about female beauty.

So, when I came across the dress I'm about to show you, I didn't hesitate.  Even though it exceeded my normal price-range, I stretched and bought it.  Of course, being in a thrift-store meant the dress was a fraction of its real price so I wasn't overpaying.  Plus, I was on a special shopping trip in New York with my friend Meghan and our excitement over being together affected my judgment on buying stuff.  In a good way.

    Ooh, gorgeous! You wear orange so well. Your gold belt is so well-integrated that even though you told me, I still thought it was part of the dress.

    Ooooh I LOVE it. Orange truly is an amazing color, especially on you! You wear it so well.

    I still dream of a reason to wear a fancy dress. My wedding was a fairly short affair, and the big poof dress went on to live it's own dream as Cinderella's dress on stage.

    So beautiful. I'm really pleased you bought this dress. The colour is lovely and the sleeves are so pretty. The way you styled it is perfect for the dress. I totally agree with what you wrote about dressing in a very feminine style. That's what I enjoy since my style is so girly.

    Soooo pretty and elegant. The color and fabric are luxurious. I love the length..and the addition of the belt and the shoes are perfect too. Am also loving the hair.

    I would definitely buy and wear that dress. Not being a gloves girl I would give them a miss however you look super gorgeous.

    Dreamy dress, Ally! Warm colours are splendid on you, and I can totally relate to preferring to be more dressed up. I think it's a leftover from being so tired of getting dirty every day during the farming years of my youth - now I over-dress all the time. :)

    P.S. I echo the thumbs-up for this lovely hairstyle, and think you'd also be beautiful with asymmetrical bangs - shades of Veronica Lake but perhaps not so vision-imapiring!

    The dress is beautiful and it looks great on you. I think that the hose and heels do wonders to complete the look. The material on the dress looks amazing and must be a joy to touch and wear.
