I was pondering how to do a festive post for the holidays when I spotted a bowl of Christmas decorations. They looked so shiny and colorful. My creative mind spun around and I realized the decorations could be great props for a photoshoot. Even better than props, they could be worn as jewelry!
In the pictures below, I use ornaments as earrings and garland as a necklace.
I propose you do your own holiday post with at least one holiday decoration incorporated into your outfit. Are you up for the challenge?!
That's so fun! I don't have any decorations up, but I'll see what I can do. :)
ReplyDeleteVery festive! One year I wrapped myself in lights and plugged them in just in time for my mother's entrance after being out for the evening. I got yelled at!
ReplyDeleteWe don't decorate for Christmas anymore and I enjoy the freedom and the clean up is a breeze. ;)
Any deadline?! This sounds like a great idea for a Christmas day post. Love this idea.
ReplyDeleteChristmas Day makes perfect sense.
DeleteNow that´s the spirit!
ReplyDeleteI have not put any decorations up - so i am not sure i can do the challenge.
Um, those ornament earrings are freaking fabulous! :-) Unfortch we aren't decorating for the holidays this year. I got sick and we didn't get the house cleaned in time, which sucks because it would really make the holiday seem real to me. But it's nice to see what other people are doing! I love the idea of a garland necklace, too. :-)
ReplyDeleteHey folks -- just because you're not decorating your house doesn't mean you can't join this challenge. My garland necklace was $3 and the ornaments earrings were $4 (bought at Target). You can pick up something to wear for very little money.
ReplyDeleteawww! it'sso creative and very pretty!
ReplyDeleteagreed with Megan - when's the deadline?
Christmas Day

Very good. I love the purple.
ReplyDeleteDelightful!
ReplyDeleteLOL, this sounds fun Ally! I will see if I can figure out a way to play along!!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea! You look lovely! I don't have any decorations here, but I'll try something out when I get back to Europe!
ReplyDeleteTake care

I LOVE how you used the Christmas bulbs as earrings, they look so cute! At work, we decorated the boutique with ornaments hung by gold & silver necklaces, festive and fashionable!
ReplyDeleteAha :D Cool :D I will steal the idea :D
ReplyDeleteHow festive and love the red/gold/purple combo. I decorate my home with hats, so I guess that you could say I'm wearing the holidays daily. And I'm focusing on brilliant colors, so don't know if this meets the criteria!
ReplyDeleteYou look so pretty and totally embody the spirit of the holidays. Your top also has really nice draping/ruching around the neck.
ReplyDeleteMy Christmas ornament might be th' cat. We still havn't put out anything breakable. Fortunately, it looks like her poison is boxes :P
Hubby and I just put up a tree last night. I've been so out of the holiday mood. Both sets of parents are gone. Siblings are out of state. Our kids are traveling afar. It's been a ho-hum season.
ReplyDeleteNice earrings! You look like sexy Mrs. Claus! :) I love, love, love Christmas decorations, especially big old-fashioned lights.
ReplyDeletewow, you're so creative! and you look gorgeous as always :) i'm not as creative as you, so i don't have any idea what kind ornament i should wear, hahaha :) but i'm gonna try to find out what's the best for me. wish me luck :)
ReplyDeleteYou look gorgeous in your Christmas gear. That top is super sexy!!!
ReplyDeleteWow, I love these shots! The lighting and the color of the ornaments combined really make these work! Did you intend to light these differently or did it just happen?
ReplyDeleteYou are so creative. I would never have thought of doing something like this. Wow, now I have to do some serious thinking on how to accomplish this challenge.
ReplyDeleteI like that you're rocking purple and red with such aplomb. And the garnet/berry hue of your top is definitely your color! I'll have to hit the drugstore's Christmas decoration aisle and see if I can get some inspiration. Reminds me of a Project Runway episode I saw recently - the challenge was to construct a clothing item from materials purchased from a Christmas store.
ReplyDeleteThat is awesome. I used to wear the bell ornaments on a necklace when I was younger, and the thick garland as a boa.
ReplyDeleteYou look gorgeous! Normally the Santa hat sort of makes me groan, but you pull it off beautifully.
ReplyDeleteI have my own Christmas post coming well I've done one and have another coming up before the new year.
ReplyDeleteOh Ally, you look so adorable and festive with your Christmas decorations! I wish I was feeling more in the spirit this year, but I'm afraid I didn't even bother to dig out any lights for the front window. I'm glad you're here carrying the torch, at least!
