I think we deserve recognition for that. And applause. *clap clap*
This time of year, there are numerous awards given for Best Regional Manager, Most Improved Third-Grader and Least Offensive Co-Worker. To my knowledge, there is no award given for Blog Of The Year. That's a shame.
When the world falls short, I step up. I hereby announce the start of my annual Bloggy Award, given to the best blog of the year. The Bloggy Award will go to a blog with magic, a blog with charm. It will honor the blog you enjoy visiting most. The one which, when it pops up in your reader, you head straight there, knowing you'll have fun.
Please nominate your favorite blog in the comments section. Yes, you may nominate your own. No, you may not nominate mine. (I'm disqualifying myself from competing.) The Bloggy Award will not be decided by votes; instead, a dedicated team of skilled professionals will review the nominees and award the winner based on merit.
Nominations are open until Christmas. The winner will be announced before New Year's.
In addition to new readers and the adulation of our community, the lucky blogger of the year will also get this...

ReplyDeleteI would like to nominate Lynne from Practical Paralegalism, not only is she stylish and interesting, she works hard, she is a wonderful mom to her teenage daughters and she is so kind to other bloggers - she sent me a box of hand me downs and she adopted Megan's little cat - she deserves it!!
What a fun idea! And of course I looked more closely at the picture after your instructions to do the opposite...I probably wouldn't even have noticed if you hadn't said anything :P haha

(She's Canadian, though...but I'm sure she'd be able to find a place to exchange that Benjamin for a...uh...whatever the Canadian equivalent to $100US might be!)

I second Lynne's nomination! With all that she deals with in her personal and professional life, she still manages to shop for others, do giveaways on her own blog, send me coffee gift cards when I most need them, and manages to look totally amazing all the while.
ReplyDeleteThere are two blogs that deserve top prize in my opinion- both different in style but not attitude. Both women are gorgeous, love dressing but add so much substance to their style! I'm speaking of Vix, the Vintage Vixen and Judith of the Style Crone. Both have had a tremendous influence on me this past year, both have such wonderful blogs!

ReplyDeleteOoooh, crikey, so many of ya'll are my fave, fave, fave, but this year I'm going to have to nominate Judith, The Style Crone, partly because she lives in an apparently magic house that frequently belches up incredibly glamorous clothing. I love her adventures, and the incredible love story between her and Nelson that is as much a part of her blog as her always elegant and sophisticated style.
