Serendipity In Blue

What are the odds that during the same week I'd find two perfectly-matching items in different thrift-stores? Remote.

Both are exotic pieces -- bright blue faux-alligator print. One is a skirt; the other are heels. I love 'em.

I added a plain white top for background and two pieces of blue jewelry I own. The ensemble is below.

I love these colors. Don't you?

  1. That shade of blue is beautiful and particularly on you! The necklace near your face is so flattering. And the plain white tee was the perfect finishing piece.

  7. There's almost no feeling on earth like scoring something truly perfect on a thrifting trip. You look utterly fabulous!

  8. Very much so. Blue + white calls to mind marshmallow fluff-esque clouds against a calm summer sky and always look so classically lovely together.

  9. I love the colours, the necklace is particularly super! Your are one beautiful summer's day. I could imagine yellow earrings or a necklace with this too to complete the sky! One small thing-is it just me or do you have the skirt waistband overly high or is it a high-wasted style? Just thought I'd ask as I know you like feedback!x

    1. Thanks for the feedback, buddy. I was actually wondering that myself. Since I don't have a natural female waist, I have to guess where to hang skirts and sometimes I make mistakes. I was afraid if I wore it lower, it'd look too long but maybe that wouldn't have been a bad thing.

  10. The shoes were just made for that skirt! I have a new appreciation for blue these days because of my daughter's upcoming wedding. Your necklace looks like the Caribbean!

  14. Blue and white are so fresh and pretty together. And that necklace was made for you! The fanciful animal print is lots of fun. I find that sometimes when I'm shopping, certain colors just keep catching my eye ...

  15. Love the snakeskin print skirt and the necklace. The blues look really great with the white tee. I love when I'm out thrifting and end up finding pieces (in one trip) that actually work together. Sometimes I don't even realize it till I get home and lay everything out on the bed to show my hubby. :)

  19. The outfit is beautiful, of course. But the way you're tilting your head and smiling SO genuinely happily in that last picture is worth a million bucks...you're getting more and more comfortable in front of the camera as a way to let your personality shine in addition to putting together outfits. Gosh. Makes me happy. You look like a carefree girl who's just loving life.

    1. You're right -- and you've been an influence on that. I remember what you said when you took my picture in your backyard.
