Realizing My Dream


I have a big surprise! I've been working on making a career-shift. I've been keeping my activities quiet until success was assured. And it is!

I've going to realize my lifelong dream -- to become a Rockette! I passed the audition for one of three openings they have in the company. I tried out in January and was called back twice. My final audition was in front of the Rockette's dance-director, April Phoule. She's famous in the dance world.

At first, I doubted I'd have a chance. But April said my age wasn't a big factor if I could hoof. And dance I did. For hours a day, for months. I got my kicks up to eye-level and worked on developing poise. It was hard work, but I was eager and enthusiastic.

April called me last week with the good news. I start working with the other girls next month. Of course I'll have to give up my law practice but that's a small price to pay for living your dream.

Now, where can I buy a dozen leotards and ten pairs of high-quality dance-tights?!

    I'll lend you mine. I won't need them anymore since I will be living my dream...living the life as a super RICH artist, my workshop will be an easel in the middle of a field of lavender in the South of France. My house will be a castle next to Angelina and Brad (we won't be inviting the kids for supper though! too many!) where Clooney will drop by every once in a while unannounced without his wife (booooring!) while my husband is away on business. Just to say "hello". ; )

    So I realised you were joking about a sentence in, but never put two and two together about April Fools, even when reading her name! I just thought you had done your research :-)
