Resolutions

Do you have any resolutions for the new year?

Mine is to restore balance to my life.  Work less, travel more and visit friends.  I've been suffering some ill effects from working too hard and need to cut back on that.  Easier said than done, however.

How 'bout you?  What are your goals for 2015?

  1. That's a great resolution! You definitely deserve more fun and travel in your life! I have many goals and things I am going to work on in 2015. I love the new year and the feeling of having a clean slate!

  2. My! that is quite the bike.

I don't usually make resolutions since I figure if I really wanted to do something I would simply do it.

There is always something to be said for trying to enjoy life more though. They always say when someone is about to die they never wish they'd spent more time at the office.

BTW...I just watched Transparent. Have you seen it? It is brilliant! Just brilliant! I think it has given me a bit of insight into you.

    bisous

    1. How interesting! I'm always curious how well or poorly people grasp me. The range is wide.

I read all about that show during its production. They consulted us on its content in an effort to make it realistic and respectful. I haven't seen the final version yet but plan to. Why don't you write a post about it?!

    2. Great idea! : ) I wanted to make a list of the programs that I've really enjoyed this year and this is one of my favourites.

      Happy New Year Lady!

  3. You whisked the words straight out of my mouth, Ally. If I were to assign a resolution to 2015 (I tend to be a "make goals whenever I please kind of gal" and not a big resolution person in general), working to restore balance, serenity, and less worry/stress to my life would be - and is - my biggie for 2015 as well.

Here's to the hope that we're both able to exceed on this front, my friend!

    Happiest New Year's wishes!!!

  5. I have not thought of new years resolutions - i usually don't - of course there are things i'd like to do and want to do, but I don't put the word "resolution" on it.. it's too much pressure.

  7. Great resolution Ally, take care and enjoy 2015. Mine is to get back into running daily, lose some weight and spend more time being Lotte hopefully.

  8. Balance is so important! I have some goals that I'm working on but my biggest one is to nurture my friendships more. Give them the attention & love they deserve. Too often I put friends on the backburner bc life gets busy with spouse, kids, work, other commitments. Happy new year, Ally!

  9. Sounds like 2014 was as work heavy for you as it was for me.

Here's to more R&R in 2015. Happy New Year!

  10. I was about to say..."I never have any new years resolutions. If I need to change something, I just do it. I don't wait until the new year."

Then I read your new years resolutions and I decided to copy you. LOL! I completely agree with everything you said. Work has made me loose so much sleep this year!

Thanks for sharing your NY rezzies. (I think I just made that word up ;) )

  13. Being your own boss is always difficult as you are the big cheese who brings in the money so balancing work / travel / fun will always be challenging.

I have decided not to make any big hairy audacious resolutions for 2015 ... I am rather going to go back to my monthly intentions and work from there. The overall biggie intention for the year is to have more fun and do more therapy ... I mean scrapbook more.

  15. Like Suzanne Carillo, if there's something I'm going to do - I just do it. I don't wait for a New Year. However, like proper, I AM saving to make a road trip up to Philly after April 1st (when I qualify for vacay days). Which I suppose could be a resolution because it's only just come up now that I'll need to start saving.

I suppose I should also add "blog more" because I'm trying to reach back out to my internet buds. It took a lot of adjustment to find my groove, but my newish phone takes great photos and knocking out the camera-to-computer trouble means streamlining the process even more.

  16. "Restore balance to my life" is a great resolution Ally, I hope you find you have achieved that very early in 2015.
For me I think the all encompassing resolution is to choose. I am really bad at making decisions and right now am looking at my life knowing I've ended up with some things I don't like because I just didn't choose. I need to decide what I want and then go get it!

  17. No real resolutions for me, other than ride my motorcycle more. The balance thing is always a good idea. Too much work is never good.

  18. Balance is a good resolution, here's to that happening swiftly for you x
My only resolution is to learn how to make dessert pies. My nan was good at making pastry, so I hope it's in my genes.
