Recently I saw a great documentary on PBS about Wonder Woman, who was created back in 1941. Wonder Woman was a superheroine in comic books for decades before becoming a TV show in the Seventies. Some of you might remember Linda Carter's portrayal in that classic show.
Wonder Woman is a warrior princess of the Amazons and is known in her homeland as Diana of Themyscira. She is gifted with superhuman powers and superior combat skills. She also possesses an arsenal of weapons, including the Lasso of Truth, a pair of indestructible bracelets that stop bullets, a tiara that works as a projectile, and an invisible airplane.
My good friend Fuzzy just bought a Wonder Woman costume for herself and, at my gentle request, she agreed to let me wear it. I'm thrilled! Every little girl wants to grow up to be strong and beautiful like Wonder Woman. I'm proof it's never too late. :-)
Before I show you the pictures, I want to dedicate this post to Sheila whose Wonder Woman poses have amused the fashion blogosphere for years. You go, girl!
I adore Wonder Woman! I loved the TV show back in the 70s.
ReplyDeleteAlly, you look amazing in this outfit. I will have to do a WW pose for you today. Thank you so much for your very kind shout-out.
Although I'm too young to fully appreciate Wonder Woman, it matters not. You are rocking this outfit and your legs are phenomenal!
ReplyDeleteYou look amazing in this outfit ... go out and conquer the world!!!!!
ReplyDeleteLove Wonder Woman! This is a great costume, the boots look like they're painted on your legs! Have you seen her revamped outfit lately? Looks like she's wearing skinny jeans now, I really like it.
ReplyDeleteWee! Wonder-Ally! I am lovin' the boots. You look so totally awesome! I too am a little young to appreciate WW, as Batman/Catwoman where more geared to my particular age, but I absolutely love a superheroine!
ReplyDeleteawesome!

ReplyDeleteThanks, buddy. And thanks for visiting.
DeleteOh, my gosh, I bet that felt awesome to wear this Wonder Woman costume and become a superhero! Those boots would be fun to style with other outfits too.
ReplyDeleteI plan to try that!
DeleteI'm a recent Sheila-follower, she's such a honey and oh my eyes, you ARE WW in that amazing costume! It's the best I've ever seen, most of them look so cheap and tacky, this one is beautifully-made in such lovely fabrics. Your legs + silver boots = perfection:). xo
ReplyDeleteThat outfit is fantastic!! I think my dad used to like Linda Carter. I think there was a certain Catwoman he liked, too.
ReplyDeleteThe only thing that would make this better is blue/black hair!
Becky :)
LOVE this post! Yes, I am old enough to be a Wonder Woman fan...I had a Wonder Woman yoyo, and UNDEROOS! Remember those? I thought Linda Carter was the most beautiful woman ever! (She's still gorgeous!)
ReplyDeleteWow, you look great! And thanks for bringing back the memories!
AHHH!! You are adorable!!! I never got into wonder woman as a kid, mostly because I never saw the show. I heard rumors of a movie in production though!
ReplyDeleteNow I want to have a superhero party.
Great! I'll be WW; Kyle can be The Hulk (he won't need a costume); and you can be... Doctor Who's beautiful companion!
Deleteyou are totally rocking the Wonder Woman! Love it!

ReplyDeleteLove it! :-)
ReplyDeletePERFECT. You rock as Wonder Woman!!!
ReplyDeleteWonder Woman was definitely a character I liked more in theory. But whenever I saw how she was was portrayed in cartoons or on TV she struck me as being made to seem much too weak for such a backstory.
ReplyDeleteCool costume :)
Awesome!!!!
ReplyDeleteYou look "wonder"ful! :) I dressed up as Batgirl a few times for Halloween. Women can kick butt just like the guys!
ReplyDeleteI have always been a fan of Wonder Woman !
ReplyDeleteand I think this post is very well dedicated to Sheila :)
At the risk of sounding cheesy, this costume only serves to bring out how I view you - as a wondrous woman. You look awesome in it too!!
