Have you felt it yet? That impulse nature gives us to blossom with new life? Spring arrived in New York when temperatures soared from cold to hot overnight.
My top and shorts are from Nordstrom Rack; the cute socks came from a specialty store. I tried to create a bright color-palette and like the top's design.
For those who think I dress young, I plead guilty. What's wrong with young?!
The socks were such a surprise I laughed! I love stripey socks. You look like you're genuinely having fun here so I hope work is cutting you some slack now.
Oh this outfit makes me smile so much! I love all the colors together and it's just so playful and fun. Definitely brightened up my gray snowy day over here!
I'm adoring the bright, happy spring colors in this outfit. It's charming! And I'm now officially obsessed with those adorable socks. (I was hoping you purchased them at Target or something so I could go out and buy a pair myself lol).
Such a fun outfit - those socks are killer! Spring burst onto the scene with great aplomb on Easter weekend here. The weather...forgive me for waxing poetically for a moment...was nothing short of sublime! Sunshine that seemed to stretch on until the ends of the earth, a sky that was a bluer than a husky's eyes, and warmth so toasty, I almost had to double check to make sure I hadn't suddenly woken up in the Caribbean (all this being far beyond the seasonal norm). Of course, that glorious rush of amazing weather was short lived, but it was just what I needed to clear the winter cobwebs from my mind and really turn my attention towards spring as well.
I agree with Megan - I can totally see you with rollerskates in this look. Those socks are totally rollerderby perfect and your ruffles would sway in the wind like pink wings.
Awesome socks and I love all these pieces on you! So cool! And re the dressing too young thing- my fiance says I dress like a 12 year old girl at times, as did my deputy head several times last term at school (She also said the words "Bloody Alice in Wonderland!" about something I wore!!! In jest of course!)x
I love this outfit on you! The shorts and socks are very cute. I think I've been guilty of dressing too old or too plain many times, dressing too young looks lots more fun. I love Megan's image of you doing roller derby, that's always looked such a fun thing to do even though I'm such a wimp I know I'd be terrible at it. xx
Oh my gosh these shorts are to die for...or dye for, heh heh. Aint nothin wrong with young especially when you have the body of a 25 year old! Seriously though I need those shorts.
Darn. I got a pair of striped socks for Christmas and donated them without even wearing. I totally missed the vision and opportunity to rock the stripes. I really love the red top, Ally. And I say have fun and dress exactly how you want. It's not like you're wearing this out to a business dinner or anything. This is your "I'm celebrating spring!!! WhooHooo!!!" outfit....and it's perfect.
As someone who makes dresses out of novelty prints (often fabrics made to be used in colourful quilts), I cannot ever criticize someone for not wearing something 'age appropriate'. Dress how you feel! That's what's appropriate. I love your style, as you always seem to express what you are, rather than dressing by what you 'should' be wearing.
Love your Rainbow Bright socks!
ReplyDeletegreat colours and I adore your shorts! oh, I wish it was spring here. I'm so tired of winter
ReplyDeleteWhat's wrong with young, indeed! You've got great legs, so show them off!

ReplyDeleteOh gawwwwwwwwwd I NEEEEEEEEEEEED those socks and thank you for another gorgeous outfit - I love the layered shorts!!! xoxo
ReplyDeleteIf I had legs like yours I would wear booty shorts everyday. Why should only the young get to dress young?
ReplyDeleteBecky :)
It bothers me when people ask "is this too young for me?" I say wear what makes you feel good and beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI can totally see you rocking that outfit in roller skates too.
You are the embodiment of spring, with all of its colors and radiance. The socks with heels are my personal favorite.
