My friend Meghan blogs at Cirque du Frock. I've met her in person three times so far. I first visited Meghan in Philly where she lives. We later saw the musical Kinky Boots in NYC. Third, she attended my birthday party last year.
I'm eager to meet Megan Mae for the first time. If you've ever read her blog, you know how special she is. I like her and always enjoy seeing Meghan. The biggest difficulty will be figuring out how to call one of them without the other turning around. Someone needs a nickname!
I suggested to M&M that we attend a flower conservatory, Longwood Gardens, so that is now our plan. I even bought tickets in advance to guarantee our admission. The Gardens are displaying a huge exhibition of orchids right now.
The gorgeous flowers shown above are famous blue-poppies. Once considered a myth, blue-poppies (Meconopsis ‘Lingholm’) thrive at the conservatory. They are native to high elevations in the Himalayan Mountains and rarely seen elsewhere. We're gonna smell 'em!
Making friends opens new doors. I love that. Do you ever travel to meet friends?
That's awesome i am sure you will have an amazing time and take lots of pictures like you always do :), i have a friend that i met on instagram and we now catch up every fortnight for coffee.
ReplyDeleteHow 'bout we talk Sara and Kyle into visiting you? And I'll squeeze myself into the mix?!
DeleteI am SOOOOO jealous! Give both Meghan and Megan a hug for me!
ReplyDeleteThe conservatory sounds wonderful. It's great that you get to travel to meet friends regularly! I love living where I do, but one disadvantage is that a plane trip is involved whenever I want to visit someone or they want to visit me.
ReplyDeleteHow well do you swim? :-)
DeleteThe two Ms are great and that is so cool that you are all going to get together. I would love to see the flower conservatory too! My mum grows meconopsis in her garden quite successfully and to the best of my knowledge they don't have much scent but you must stick your nose in anyhow to make sure. They are not a true poppy, but have a poppy like look so blue poppy is the common name for them. Sometimes the blue anemone gets called blue poppy as well. Yes, I am a botanical nerd. :-) xo
ReplyDeleteI love you Shawna <3 <3 <3 <3
DeleteI'm glad to have caught your comment. I have several poppy tattoos, and hope to add a 'blue' one to the mix.
DeleteWhat a wonderful outing and it sounds like so much fun to meet friends!!! I used to travel to meet friends and now we all meet in one vacation destination. It's easier now that we all have families!
ReplyDeleteSomeone already has a nickname, Ally, and I'll definitely tell you what it is in secret. Also I believe there is vague pronunciation differences in our names- as far as I know, Megan is Mae-gan where I'm more like "Meh"gan. :-P
ReplyDeleteI'm so looking forward to this visit. It's always fun to visit with friends and I'm just too happy that you're getting to come along! LOTS OF PICTURES FOR ALL THE BLOGS
How cool!! Cant wait to hear how it goes.. the orchid show sounds pretty amazing... make sure you take your camera :)
ReplyDeleteI did meet up with a group of bloggers in Ottawa several years ago and it was fun. We were all dressed up fancy and met at a big fancy old hotel. I felt like a bit of a princess!! LOL
i haven't traveled to meet other bloggers, but have traveled to see friends. have a great weekend, ally!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your time with M&M and your visit to the conservancy.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait for the day that I say I'm meeting Ally this weekend!!!!
How exciting!!! I hope that you guys have a fantastic time. Interestingly, it seems more bloggers come to me or we meet up while I'm traveling, but circumstances permitting, I'd be delighted to meetup with a blogging friend.
ReplyDeleteHappy start of spring, Ally!
♥ Jessica
I should clarify that I mean, I'd be delighted to travel to meetup with them. :)

ReplyDeleteI think I know what my next tattoo will be - a blue poppy!!!
ReplyDeleteI can't say that I've ever ventured to meet a friend. Maybe that'll all change when we buy our travel trailer in the near future.
