The same approach generated this outfit. I found floral leggings at Charlotte Russe for $12 and thought they'd be a great centerpiece for a new outfit. Like last time, I'm keeping attention on the leggings and not adding any distractions.
What do you think? Your opinion counts.
Before I close shop, let me mention two things. The pink handbag was a gift from my friend Megan who has a fabulous blog. You should go visit it. Megan is a chic dresser with impressive credentials in the (real) Fashion World. (Check this out if you don't believe me.)
Second, everything I've learned about women's clothing has come from you. Other bloggers have taught me invaluable fashion lessons by their example. One who stands out in that regard is Lisa whose blog is here. Lisa's choices and outfits mesmerize me. I study them to figure out how she creates her magic. In a real sense, Lisa inspires and educates me. Thanks, pal!
I actually kind of like the leggings! Not sure I'd be able to pull this concept off myself because I have hips on the wider side. However, I'd probably pair these leggings with a plain LBD (little black dress).
ReplyDeleteThanks. And that's an interesting idea.
DeleteNice outfit Ally. Not sure about that colour bag, swap for black patent heels and matching black patent bag and finish with black bead necklace.
ReplyDeleteYou've inspired me to do an outfit idea based around your use of colours, thanks.
It's funny but colors in real life don't always look the same in photos. IRL the bag doesn't clash as much as it does here.
DeleteI gave you a mention in my 'Today's Fashion Inspiration' post over at http://in-the-pink-fog.blogspot.com/2014/09/todays-fashion-inspiration.html
DeleteThanks, Lotte!
DeleteI really love the leggings and the heels. I'm not a huge fan of white and wonder if black on the top with the nice bright beads wouldn't have been even better.
ReplyDeleteI do love the proportions this gives your body. I think it emphasizes your gams which are one of your best assets.

I think this is my favorite outfit of yours. I adore the necklace and the leggings (THE LEGGINGS) but I really actually love that white shirt. I think the proportions are really nice on you, and the color is so clean. Love Love that shirt so much.
ReplyDeleteI have to say after our convo during my last visit about leggings as pants that I giggled a little. ;-) You're braver than I am.
Thanks, buddy. I borrowed the shirt from my boyfriend. :-)
DeleteI love the pants and I love them with the floral leggings. I think this is a great way to show of your shapely legs without going bare. Well done!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Gracey. You're the Seal of Approval!
DeleteI love what you did. The leggings are very cute and totally deserve to become the focal point of the outfit…
ReplyDeleteDaphne.
I really like the combo though, clean and pretty. I wondered if your necklace is one ling strand doubled up? If so, I'd say, wear them outside the shirt single length. X
ReplyDeleteYes, it's one long strand. I tried wearing it singly outside the shirt but it's too long for that.
DeleteYou need to wear leggings more often. I love these bright ones. I'd love to see them with a chambray shirt and some riding boots!
ReplyDeleteSuper fun leggings, I really love the colors and they're so fun with the top!
ReplyDeleteAh! I LOVE this! This outfit reminds me of something Lorelei Gilmore would wear, and you know how much I adore my Gilmore Girls! I can't wear leggings as pants. I have a big, round, butt, and therefore, leggings tend to look "Inappropriate" as pants on me. So unfair! I guess you will have to wear more of them so I can live vicariously through you!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your last comment, you are going to make me cry! Seriously, you are the sweetest person ever. I am thankful to have you as a friend.
I used to have floral jeans in the 90s and these kind of remind of a fun updated version. I think you picked the right top, too. A color with those leggings might be too much but the white is so pretty. It makes me want to try wearing a white shirt even though I have far too many Catholic school memories to make that likely.
ReplyDeleteLOVE this!! I like how you've added this little pop of pink at the neckline to echo the leggings.
ReplyDeleteI like the leggins, I am not a legging person as I feel too self conscious about my thighs but they work really well on you.
ReplyDeleteI think you've styled the outfit perfectly!! It's classy and sassy and just overall well balanced.
ReplyDeletelove those shoes! i'm liking the proportions here...i'd go for a black top to balance the black heels. or my fave, an oversized gray sweatshirt with fun strappy heels!
ReplyDeleteAlly, you look sensational! These floral print pants add such a dose of femininity and beauty to your look and also are very figure flattering. Terrific find and styling - this outfit makes me think of something that Lilly Pulitzer would have thoroughly enjoyed.

*PS* Thank you deeply for your immensely nice/touching comment on today's post. I needed to hear that a great deal today.
You look FABULOUS in those leggings and the white blouse is just right.
ReplyDeleteOh, this is so cute, yet polished. I actually like the white top with the floral. This is something I'd totally wear. xo
ReplyDeleteI love how you matched pink the necklace, the pink lipstick with the pink floral printed leggings and yet the focus is still on your gorgeous killer legs. I have to say, Ally you've done an outstanding job here. I would style it just the same way you did. Perfect. Awesome heels btw!
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday

Too cute! I wanted to wear my red plaid leggings and long grey simple-cut blouse the other day, but my blouse was just not long enough (none of them are) to get away with the leggings as a bottom (no skirt). Now that I see you rocking it so well, I really want a longer/tunic length top like that to wear pretty leggings with!
ReplyDeleteYou look very cute in this! The leggings as pants issue is always a hot one, and I think most people simply can't do it and look good but if you look good then I say go for it! You look great! I have noticed that white and often white shirts are also in the people love them or hate them camp. I tend to like them but I think that they don't always photograph well. I'm not saying yours didn't but just saying why I think some people find a white shirt less than exciting. This one is cute and has a nice shape.
ReplyDeleteI pair a tunic or short dress with leggings because I do not have a nice round and perky bum to show off. We girls with boobs usually don't have much bum and often the ones with bum don't have boobs. All natural bombshells are rare, which of course makes them that much more appealing.
I love leggings but have had little success finding coloured or patterned ones in my town. One shop has them but they aren't great quality. I am now inspired to search for some floral ones.
xoxo
Those leggings are pure fun! I've always shied away from printed leggings or pants but you make a persuasive case for trying them. Would love to see these pop up on the blog again ... it'd be fun to see you pull out some of the other colors in the print - I think I see navy/black and green?
ReplyDeleteSure! Good ideas.
DeleteCute leggings! Good job on adding a pink necklace. It's funny how a little thing like that can bring together an outfit.

I think this outfit is perfection. I love the formal-yet-casual white button-up paired with such pretty floral leggings; it's just the right mix. The necklace adds just the right amount of pop up top to keep the leggings from getting all the attention so that you come off having balance. This is totally something I'm going to try out myself as the weather starts getting cooler here (if it ever does!). Yep, I'M going to steal a look from YOU...you heard me right! There's some validation if you needed any!
ReplyDeleteOh, and it also reminds me of that adorable vintage 50s look you're always after that I love so much too.
DeleteHoly Cow! If I was ever a fashion-inspiration for you, I'd burst with pride!
DeleteThis is such a great outfit! It totally looks like something I'd wear :)
ReplyDeleteA styling suggestion? When I wear collared shirts, I like to put the necklaces on the outside instead of against my skin. So the back of the necklace is up under the collar, and it falls down in front of the buttons. Colorful beads like the ones in this outfit really pop against a crisp white shirt!
