While wandering the hip section of Tucson (Fourth Avenue), I found a pretty dress, matching necklace and cute ring. They appeal to me because their colors are found in the desert.
Here are some pictures. I know it's not technically Spring yet, but you could wear this in Arizona right now without difficulty, so let's just imagine we're living in the Southwest.
Do you buy items when you travel? What kind of stuff?
I love the colors in this--its breezy and really shows your legs in those great shoes to advantage. I like the ring and the necklace too. In recent years, I've begun to focus on jewelry in my travels--as the item is light and won't present a problem when I'm packing for the return trip.
ReplyDeleteOoh, that's cute! Nice choice. Another Southwest trend is turquoise jewelry, particularly here in New Mexico. If you see any for cheap, grab it! It's fun to work SW stuff into outfits.
ReplyDeleteOh my god! That's so so so adorable! I love the color and the material.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely LOVE everything here. OMG. Maybe I'm biased because I love Arizona so much, but seriously. So cute.
ReplyDelete4th Avenue scares me a little bit. I don't think I'm hip enough for it, and I kind of feel like I need a weapon if I'm going to go there alone.
You're hip enough. It isn't dangerous (it's down the block from the Univ. of AZ). And you MUST eat at Cafe Marcel -- best crepes of my life. And amazing coffee from Africa.
DeleteI've heard good things about the crepes. Last time I was in the area though, there seemed to be some shady business going on. Lots of cops and stuff. Cops in the Goodwill, even. Kind of put me off of the place...
DeleteOh, yeah.
ReplyDelete1. Where are your shoes from?
2. Did you get a tan?
Picked up the shoes last year at Payless ($19). Yes, being outdoors makes me tan.
DeleteLove that dress!! I especially like how the jewelry coordinates with the colors of the dress. Very fashionable!
ReplyDeleteThis dress is so adorable! It may actually be my most favorite you've ever modeled. And if you really want to set that gorgeous ring off, I suggest Zoya Nail Polish in Colette. I'm addicted and I swear it looks just like the rocks in Sedona!
ReplyDeleteGreat outfit!! I am in love with that ring and those shoes are adorable! Too cute!
ReplyDeleteThis ensemble really does remind me of the desert! Without being too overt about it. Lovely combo. How wonderful to not only get a new outfit to commemorate a trip but to get an outfit that actually looks like the place. You can relive it every time you wear it. I wonder what you would buy if you visited me in Georgia. Something in peach, I guess. lol
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of, and since you mentioned it's not technically spring yet, we seem to have bypassed spring altogether and gone straight into summer. It's hot!! And not the dry, desert kind. The humid kind. Ugh.
Yes, the seasons are all screwed up. We didn't have a Fall last year and Winter wasn't as cold as usual. Now we're skipping Spring. Makes me worry about global warming.
DeleteGreat dress! I love the sheer bits and the color is amazing. Also the espadrilles are perfect for both desert-y feeling and spring. Hope your trip was as successful and fun as your shopping trip.
ReplyDeleteIt's been a long time since I've really traveled anywhere, but I used to go to thrift stores when I did. I got some awesome stuff from little hole in the wall stores in Kentucky and Gulf shores, Alabama.
I've missed your style pic posts, and love this very attractive ensemble, from wedge to pendant to super cool ring.
ReplyDeleteMy iPad in bed comments are always full of typos, and sometimes publish before I'm done. I meant to say " wedge sandals". Travel souvinirs for me include inexpensive jewelry or gorgeous refrigerator magnets.
DeleteThat happens to me, too! I got an iPad last Christmas and my comments on it are atypically mispelled and truncated. No worry!
DeleteWhat a cute dress!
ReplyDeleteIt looks so comfortable
I usually try to get one clothing item and vintage pictures :)
One of my favorite dresses ever from you :)
ReplyDeleteSo cute!!! I absolutely LOVE those shoes and of course the legs that are shown off!!!
ReplyDeleteI usually get gifts for others and something I can use in my scrapbooks ~ When I went to Germany for the first time I bought all my family and friends Christmas ornaments.
Nice outfit, I like your blog. :)
ReplyDeleteI love, love that ring! The whole outfit is gorgeous. Payless does have some great shoes. They may not be made to last for years, but at the great price point, they are wonderful for shoes worn only a few times with special outfits.
ReplyDeletewhat a pretty dress! you look so nice lately! so ladylike! a real Lady you are. love the matching accessories! and btw, I'd wear your outfit myself if I could

I'm loving that ring. I think this is really a nicely pair ensemble, you have mastered accessories and outfits...I'm hoping to see you in more dresses since spring is just about here! How's the weather up there? It's getting to be so nice here...it's warming up slowly but steadily.

you look great! And seriously ditto on how great your legs look. I can't pull off shoes that tie around the ankle because of my fat calfs.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the lovely comment on my blog! I love your blog and your sense of style. I absolutely need the wedges in this post!
ReplyDeleteThis outfit is fantastic! The color is great on you and I really love your accessories and those adorable shoes. I love to shop when I travel, because I find that I'm more relaxed and thus tend to be more creative. Plus, it makes the clothes themselves that much more special.
ReplyDeleteLovely clothes you got Ally! And I love big rings!! You look cute!
ReplyDeleteSummery !
ReplyDeleteI adore yellow and your ring is fabulous.
I usually pick up a necklace or some type of accessory :)
That dress is gorgeous. I love it. And the ring is Aztec-y and very cool.
