I bought this pretty dress as a Christmas present to myself. It's made by Jessica Simpson. I got the dress on sale for $39 at a discount-store named Fox's. That price is way more than I usually spend, but I wanted something special.
What do you think?
Oh, and I took the pictures with my new Nikon camera. I haven't mastered the many operations of the camera yet; these are just basic photos.
I think you have awesome long legs! The dress is cute. I was looking at a similar one before the holiday. The checkers are sweet. Plus with the black & white you can change the belt & accessories depending on the occasion.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Ashelle. The dress actually came with a skinny black belt that I replaced with the yellow one for a pop of color.
ReplyDeleteYou look classic and gorgeous. I do agree with Ashelle, you have been truly blessed with beautiful legs. I would pair the dress up with a pretty crimson belt if I could. :)This dress is special, it's my most favorite outfit of yours.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful New Year :)
Look forward to hearing from you
Love

Dude, you are beautiful!! I think this is my favorite look of yours, I am partial to 60's style, but you are perfect in this!!
ReplyDeleteSweet new camera! You are going to be wasting hours and hours taking pictures of random stuff, honestly, it is the best thing to do. I have about 600 pictures of the tree outside, different times of day, close-ups, at night, etc. Camera's are fun toys :):)
Oh my! You look absolutely adorable! Love the dress and those long and sexy legs!
ReplyDeleteI love your new dress!!!
ReplyDeleteOh I was waiting to see this dress !!!
ReplyDeleteIt is fabulous on you, I would have picked it up too!
I begin to see a difference in your pictures ... but most important you look SO HAPPY!
Your legs are wonderful! and the dress it's so cute. I like the belt too ;) I like everything in fact, haha.

LOVE!! I love this dress and I love that you paired it with the yellow belt because it's a color combo that I would have never thought would work. (Too much similarity to a bumblebee normally?) But the hint of yellow is smashing!
ReplyDeleteOMG !! I LOVE this dress !! It has a great vintage feel to it. Classic. You wear it well and definitely have Great Legs !
ReplyDeleteThat dress needs me! So beautiful. I love houndstooth. So classic. You look wonderful in this dress and adding the yellow belt was a stroke of genius. You can tell you love the dress by your expression. You look very happy.
ReplyDeleteIs that your kitchen you are standing in? It looks great. We start our kitchen remodel tomorrow so I have kitchens on the brain!
xoxo,
Tracy
That dress is beautiful; great cut, great pattern and that yellow belt gives it that extra something! So 60s, so lovely. You look great.
ReplyDeleteLove that dress, it's very 'Mad Men'. Love that show! Man you have some awesome legs!
ReplyDeleteAng xxx
MAn I am so jealous!!! I love the dress!! It is so dang hot, like a 50's inspired Mad Men look!! You really topped it off with the red lips!

That dress is an absolute dream on you! And kudos on the yellow belt- an unpredictable pop of color. Just adorable!
ReplyDeleteI love, love, love that Dress! I would totaly wear it, haha :) And I think I would look lovely with a yellow pashmina around the shoulders.
ReplyDeleteThis dress is fabulous - the shape really suits you. Black and white prints are perfect for mixing with strong colours, like you've done here. I love the lemony belt - great choice. And I would do just about anything within in the law for legs like yours.
ReplyDeleteFantastic choice with the yellow belt and the cut of the dress is just perfect for your ridiculously long legs! =]
ReplyDeleteI quite like it!
ReplyDeleteThanks, guys, for the sweet compliments. They warm my heart on a cold winter day.
ReplyDeleteWhen I lifted this dress off the rack, it called to me immediately; I hoped it would look as good on me as it did on the hangar. I love everything about it.
I was a child in the early to mid-1960's when fashionable women wore dresses just like this one. With that imprint on my psyche, this style appeals to me deeply. It illustrates what I think a beautiful woman should look like.
Tracy: yes, this is part of my kitchen which was completely renovated last year. Good luck with your work.
I think this is my favorite look I've ever seen on you, m'dear! Love the classic houndstooth with the classy but cute shape of this dress. And way to go with your smart move on adding that yellow belt. Perfect!!
ReplyDeleteYeah! I like this dress. A lot. Love the splash of yellow, and I think I like your new camera. I'm in love with my Canon, but I'd like to try a Nikon out sometime, too. What model did you get? I might have to rent one and try it out.
ReplyDeleteA lovely choice for you! It shows off your beautiful legs and the (houndstooth) pattern is very flattering. I love that you are finding the period genre(50's/60's)that works for you. Touche!!
ReplyDeleteWow, you look amazing! I love how you styled it up with the black pumps and skinny yellow belt.
ReplyDeleteThat dress is gorgeous! I love the yellow belt.
ReplyDeleteThat dress is great! The print is so fun! And have fun with your new camera!! What type of Nikon is it? I use a Nikon D50 for work!
ReplyDelete:: whistles :: cat call ::
ReplyDeleteVery nice! I really think this is a shape that you should choose again.
Where the belt falls seems to give you a more natural appearance of a womanly bustline and small waist.
The flare of the skirt accentuates that thin, high waistline of a woman - and balances out the shoulders. It makes you look more hourglassy. It's especially accentuated in the first pic.
The length of the skirt is very flattering - sweetly sexy without being too short.
$39 bucks well spent.
Nice shoes, as well!
Gonna agree with the commenter just above me...the cut of the dress and belt placement gives you a wonderful shape!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the Christmas and New Year's wishes. I'm pretty terrible at responding to things lately but I do see them and I do appreciate it. :)
GORGEOUS :) I love Jessica Simpson's dresses. I don't own one myself but I drool when I see them at Boston Store.
ReplyDeleteAnd good choice with switching out the belt--genius!

ReplyDeleteYou look great, this dress really suits you! Nice legs!
ReplyDeleteIts a lovely dress and the Jessica Simpsons range is getting very popular so $39 is a great price.
