I travelled north to Potsdam, just below the Canadian border, and saw Aimee. Aimee, you may recall, is my seamstress-friend who custom-made a special dress for me last year. I'm going to showcase the dress soon after an upcoming photo-shoot.
From there I crossed the border to Hamilton, Ontario, which is between Toronto and Niagara Falls. Blogger-extraordinaire Sheila, who lives on the West Coast, was here seeing her friend Elaine. I popped up to join them. The three of us had a wonderful time. Here are some pics.
What did you do over the weekend?
Wonderful pictures! Thank you so much for driving up to spend that time with me/us, Ally. It was awesome to see you again and get to spend some quality time with you. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteDitto. And I'm surprised that we got such great photos when we only took a few: I believe that's called "the Sheila technique." :-)
DeleteNiagara falls is just beautiful. Sounds like you had a great weekend. Love when blogging brings us friends like this! We had a pretty lazy weekend. Did get to see the new Spiderman movie and loved it. Hope you have a wonderful week!
ReplyDeleteI think you had great weather for the drive up right? Or was it very hot?
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed the trip and got to spend time with friends.
Did you find any great spots to eat in Hamilton? What about vintage stores or thrifting?
Love your tee!

The weather was good; not too hot. After a bad lunch we found a terrific place for dinner (called The French). Visited a half-dozen vintage stores but none were special. Thanks about the tee which is my favorite!
DeleteLove the pictures! Glad you had a chance to go and see Sheila!!
ReplyDeleteShe's a doll.
DeleteSo glad you had a good weekend- and can't wait to see the dress!

Oh how nice!! The lovely Sheila! And you were wearing rather a statement T-shirt. Wow.

It's unusual for me to draw public attention to myself but this issue (trans visibility) is very important. I want people to re-examine their uninformed notion about transgender folk.
DeleteHow utterly divine that you and Sheila got to meet up again, and that you got to meet Elaine. Love those photographs! xxx
ReplyDeleteThanks -- and your name came up!
DeleteLook at you busting out all over in that t-shirt! ;-)

Yup!
DeleteLove your Shirt!
ReplyDeleteOmg I love love love your shirt!!! And you guys look like you’re having a blast together ❤️ Yay for blogging friendships!
ReplyDeleteYou all look phenomenal! I'm glad you were able to get together and have a fun time.
ReplyDeleteYou look lovely, the pair of you! And GREAT t-shirt! I wanted to mention to you that at CBC's party the other night, I got talking to a teacher from his school. He has a daughter who he was telling me about and showed me some lovely pictures of. He mentioned to me that she is transgender and was born as a boy but she identified as a girl and now lives as a girl at the age of 7 and has changed her name. I thought you would be pleased to hear about such supportive parents who have chosen to listen to their child's thoughts that she is a girl and support her in this. I mentioned you as we were chatting as you are my big inspiration in this!
ReplyDeleteWow, that's incredible. The notion that a child like this would be respected was impossible to conceive in my youth. I'm so happy for her.
DeleteOh, you got to see Sheila again!! How amazing Ally, I have a bit of envy (good envy).
ReplyDeleteI am so happy for you! The photos look so very exciting! Sheila is fantastic I would love to meet her in person too
