Among developments of that era was my close attention to female fashion. I coveted it with aching passion. So when any clothing from the Seventies crosses my path today, my heart melts and my judgment disappears.
Some styles from that turbulent time have revived, some not. I saw an authentic vintage dress at Rosie's Vintage store and immediately recognized it as something many women wore back then. But it's an odd style that (to my knowledge) has never re-surfaced. But... pink! Need I say more?
This is a strange dress but it appeals to me. What do you think?
P.S., Thank goodness for Spanx! A tight-fitting dress like this requires shapewear.
P.P.S., I felt happy wearing this dress. I think its femininity created that joy in my heart.
I love this style of dress and it really shows how much you enjoy wearing it.
ReplyDeleteI'd wear this in an heartbeat. It is so far beyond any fast fashion you'd find today.

DeleteThis color is Ally color. Pink happiness with floaty sleeves and a feminine shape. Major score. I still love the shapes of the dresses of the past. Being able to channel the fashion and joy of a decade.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely! Great response. Thanks.
DeleteFemale fashion was pretty awesome in the 70's. I love that we tend to cycle through different trends as time goes by and that you can still find some great pieces from that decade. I remember how a lot of the fashion from the 70's came back into style when I was in college. I really love this dress on you! It's a fun, feminine color and I like the cut of the dress and that front slit. The detail at the waist and along the hemline is pretty!
ReplyDeleteOooh yes- this is seriously so 70s! I love it!

DeleteVery flower power Ally.
ReplyDeleteIt's PANK! I love it - love the sheer sleeves. My grandmother wore dresses like this "for good" when I was a kid in the 70s (she was about 50 then).
ReplyDeleteYup!
DeleteBeautiful dress, and I love that shade of pink (and the 70s :)). Kisses

Ally,
ReplyDeleteThis dress is beautiful, if it is not trending, who cares. You can be a trend setter. Love this shade of pink and the sheer sleeves. The waist detail is something I will have to see later on the Ipad where I can expand the image.
I am so glad you are wearing this, you look so happy!

I like it Ally. It is strange but it's a good strange, I like it. It feel you in a bit.
ReplyDeleteThere were so many amazing styles in the 70's- I loved all the Regency-inspired dresses. This looks a nice dress BUT I am not a pink girl really so I wouldn't wear it- I did have a dress in this shade but I'm not super fond of it but then that's what makes us all different! I'm all about the blues, you like the pinks (and posssibly the blues too!) x
