Two or three years ago a dress-style came out which is perfect for me: a curvy pattern on the front of the dress that is actually a silhouette inside the sheath of the dress. The design creates an illusion of female shape. Since I have a cylindrical shape devoid of curves, I hoped this style would add the appearance of rounded edges.
I just found such a dress in a thrift-store and am playing with it. What do you think? How convincing is the illusion?
By the way, does anyone know what this style is called? I call it magic!
I think its called body con and I think this dress looks amazing on you.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Lorena!
DeleteIt does what you would hope it would do. It gives the illusion of curves and it looks great on you and you matched it perfectly with the black hose and heels.

Thanks, Pat!
DeleteI call it a “color block” style. I’m a dressmaker and have several male clients looking o dress for their feminine side, and this is always a favorite. It looks great on you!

Hey Ally! I haven't commented in awhile, because I usually just lurk on my phone and for whatever reason Blogger never lets me comment, but now that we started our new blog I have an excuse to get on the lappy again.
ReplyDeleteI really love this look. Honestly, it seems like a 90's dress which I love, but I adore how you have updated it. Beautiful <3
I , like you, lack curves. I should give this a go. You are a great inspiration.

If it can work for me, it'll work for you.

In my mind, you're so much bigger!
DeleteI think body con is what it's called. The dresses are super form fitting dresses. I'd totally wear one if they came with built-in blubber control. LOL!
