Romper Room

The phrase "adult romper" sounds like an oxymoron. But, truth be told, I've been dying to try a romper for years. I wondered how I could make one look adult-ish. It occurred to me to do what New Yorkers always do -- wear black. So I took my first romper and used it in an all-black ensemble.

What do you think? Would you wear this?

  1. Your romper is gorgeous! I like how you styled it with heels and tights too - very classy. That shade of red is such a lovely lip color too. I love the way rompers look and have always wanted to try one... I just don't like the idea of basically having to get undressed every time I need to use the restroom. But maybe one day I'll get one! :) And I would love an all black one!

    1. The bathroom issue is a serious concern, especially with tights!

  3. Cute! I actually have a romper really similar to that - all black and has tuxedo details. Never thought to put it with tights though, that's genius!

  4. With Valentines day this week we were all bombarded with commercials for the Pajamagram Hoodie/footie. I told my wife I would never get her one and she agreed that the bathroom issue would be a major show stopper. Even if the garment kept you cozy and warm on cold winter nights you would have to take it almost all off to go to the bathroom. From the point of view of the guy it would seem that the garment would never get out of the way.
30 years ago my wife had a one-piece outfit that she wore one time and hated having to take it almost completely off to go to the bathroom.

  5. I LOVE this look. It's so funny... years ago, when I went to Vegas with a gf we searched high and low for cute rompers. At one point my friend was like, "are these weird? Do we look like we're trying to be sexy babies?" I couldn't stop laughing. Whatever, I think they're adorable--and that one suits you perfectly!!!
