A Peek Backstage

Behind the scenes,  I don't look as pretty and polished as you see on the blog.  It takes hard work to create a pleasing appearance.

In my last Birchbox, I received Fango Purificante Purifying Mud Mask from Borghese.  I've never tried a mud mask before and was skeptical, but the product works nicely.  It feels good and really improves your skin.  You can feel the mask extract oil and bacteria from your pores.

Have you ever tried a mud mask?  What do you do backstage to become pretty?

  1. Yes! I haven't tried them many times, but the ones I have tried feel awesome. I don't know if it's psychological or not, but you can actually feel the dirt coming out and sticking to the clay.

Have you ever tried those masks from Lush? I have tried the lemon kind several times and I have to say that it's very refreshing. You just keep it in the fridge all day and put it on at night.

    Have a great weekend!

    1. Whoa... I just clicked on the product. That is some pretty fancy stuff! Is it worth the price?

    2. No, I haven't tried the Lush masks. And yes, I think this product is worth the expense. A little goes a long way so a tube/jar will last a long time.

  8. That photo put a smile on my face. I hope the UPS guy came to the door when you were dressed like that. ; P

I haven't used any mud masks in ages. My skin is so sensitive I try not to fool with it too much.

  9. This is adorable! I was just wondering the other day if you were still enjoying Birchbox :) This also confirms that my idea for your Christmas present this year may be a good one *wink wink nudge nudge* I love teasing people about their gifts, haha.

    1. I love Birchbox. It lets me play with products I didn't know existed. Without it, I wouldn't even try whole categories of beauty aids -- some of which I've become fond of. Your gift last year was one of the most beneficial I've ever received.

    1. I believe what feminist and other social theorists say -- that gender-presentation is cultural, not biological. Thus, we stage our presentation with effort ranging from none to a lot.

  11. Such a cute picture!!! Thanks for sharing the behind the scenes peek!!!

I have used all kinds of masks but unfortunately don't use them as regularly as I should. You have inspired me to do one this weekend.

  12. I always use the same old hydrating mask so I should probably give a mud mask a go for a change.

  13. I do mud musks (firstly because they scare me off) but I often use handmade supplies (lotions, cremes etc) from my mom's 'face lady' cosmetologist.

  14. LOL! I love it. I used to use masks a lot when I was younger. Especially the Biore nose strips/whole face mask.

I've tried a professional facial before, but it just made me break out like crazy!!

I'm pretty happy with my Lightfoot soap from you, and basic ol' Lubiderm sensitive skin lotion. ;) Thanks again for turning me onto something gentle AND good smelling.

  18. I love mud masks! Especially dead sea mud. I went to Israel a few years ago and brought home tons of dead sea products. They are so expensive here, but I took advantage of the lower prices and stocked up. They've all run out now, so I only dream of them and wish I could afford them here in Canada.
