I just learned from Patti's blog that Pantone has chosen the top color for next year. They call it "Radiant Orhid". Whatever you call it, compare this color to the background of my blog and the hue you see most often in my clothes...
Yes! It's mine! My favorite color has finally hit the spotlight. Next year, everyone will look like me. Well... not exactly, but you get the point.
Would you wear this color?
Haha...it's the color of your background! I love that color. I have and would wear it again in a heartbeat. I love pink...and don't discriminate between any of the varying hues :)

Wow, an exact match! You have color foresight, Ally.
ReplyDeleteIt's the year of the Ally!! I love it!! I have one shirt sort of close to being what I consider "Ally pink". Pink never was one of my colors. I was a hardcore "blue" child.
ReplyDeleteHaha! We always knew you were stylish, and now the whole world will be copying you. I have a few orchid blouses, and I really love all shades of pink. But my favorite color, emerald, was Pantone's color of the year for 2013.
ReplyDeleteI was a green and blue kid, too. I can't wait to see what exciting things the new year's color brings for you, Ally!
ReplyDeleteBest of all, it means garments in your favorite color should also be turning up in thrift shops for years to come!
I hadn't thought of that. Great!
Deleteoh yes...i would definitely wear this color! i can see it now, a radiant orchid pencil skirt with a leopard blouse :)
ReplyDeleteLOVE that colour! Will go and buy something and think of you every time I wear it!!!
ReplyDeleteI actually bought a coat in a darker version of this colour before it was named the colour of 2014. You and me gal, we're ahead of the curve : )

I would call it "fuchsia". or at least it looks like fuchsia :) and of course I would and I actually already do wear it because pink shades are something I definitely like.
ReplyDeleteMaiken,
Maikeni blogi - part of me
Setting the trend I see :D I myself wear this colour on my lips but that's as adventurous as I dare to get with it....
ReplyDeleteYay, so true, you're already so trendy then ! :) I love this color, it's such a vibrant and happy shade...will be wearing it a lot, for sure ! Kisses

That's really cool - I like to think that maybe, just maybe, the fine folks at Pantone saw your blog and were so inspired, they selected its background colour as their hue of the year. You never know, such could have been the case.
ReplyDeleteI like this colour a lot, but (much like fuschia, it's close cousin), it's not often terribly flattering on my skin tone, so I'll be seeking it out in supporting roles (like jewelry and hair accessories) for my wardrobe, instead of making it a star player.

It is seriously an exact match. I don't know that I will be wearing this color this year, or at all, really. I'm not sure that it will look good with my skin tone. In any case, now you have solid proof of your trendsetter status.
ReplyDeletewould wear this color any time!!!
ReplyDeletelike you i look great in cool hues, especial cool reds. when i was in my 20´s i had a nappa leather micro mini skirt in this signature color of your blog - god i was young.......
It really does look like the color on your blog, how funny! I don't think I own anything in this color so I better get on it, haha.

Congrats on being ahead of the trend! I tend to keep away from pinks because my skin has a lot of pink undertone - but I may play with the more purply version of this.
ReplyDeleteOooh yes, I have some items in this shade already - very pretty indeed.
ReplyDeleteYou're right! It is your color. Yes, I'd wear it.
ReplyDeleteHaha! Very cute. I personally wouldn't wear radiant orchid anywhere other than my lips and nails but I'm sure you'll have fun working with the trend!
ReplyDeleteHa! You wizard you! That is 100% spot on and now you can say you beat them to the punch! ;-)
