Such a peaceful, soul soothing image. Swans have always been one of my favourite birds. They're relatively rare around these parts, though you can sometimes see them in the nearby town of Vernon. One time, while there as a brave teenager, I was dared to touch a swan (a big no-no, as they can chase and bite), so I did and the little dear couldn't have been more dolice (I swear, it wanted to be pet just like a cat or dog would have). Still, as most swans are not so receptive to human contact, half a lifetime later, I wouldn't likely repeat that day again. :)

*PS* Ally, I wholeheartedly want to thank you for your absolutely lovely, meaningful blog comment yesterday. The idea that someone could instantly recognize my sartorial style even without seeing my face is a compliment of no small magnitude.
