LBD With A Twist

I dream of getting dressed up and going to a party.  I dream of standing in a circle of women, complimenting their outfits and hearing the latest news about our friends.  I dream of dancing to music in a pretty new outfit.

When you aren't able to live a natural life, you dream a lot.  At least I do.  It's fun to imagine the universe of activities out there.

I thought of parties when I happened upon this dress on a rack at Marshall's.  Only $12, it is a variation of the LBD, with vertical stripes adding interest.  I like how it fits and how it flares.

It doesn't appear I will ever get the chance to attend a party in this dress, but a girl can dream, can't she?







Someone asked for a closeup of the necklace, so here it is.
I'm a little embarrassed that the necklace isn't centered,
but that's what happens when you take pictures alone.

    I'm sure the right party will come along some day, until then there is no shame in dressing up pouring yourself a cocktail and having your own party with the ladies from Sex in the City. The dress looks cute too :)

    How cute is that dress! I adore the snake-print insets. It's super flattering, and I love the sleeves.

    I think that sounds like a wonderful dream. I dream about having a book club with ladies (and gentlemen!) who enjoy eating tasty foods and talking about nerdy books. Alas, the closest I got was having lunch with a classmate the other day. It was still fun though!

    Some day, we'll plan a great blogger meet up where you can wear your little black dress! I think Melissa (Working Mom's Closet) has a similar dress, at least I remember loving it before I saw it on you! (And I still love it now!)

    great dress! I would have bought it for $12. I like the necklace too -- can we see a close up? I mean, it looks like circles but maybe it's just oval beads (I don't think I'm describing what I see the right way here.)

    You should throw a party at your house and invite everyone in your life who loves and supports you. You know all your blog friends are mentally raising a toast to you. :)

    You look beautiful. I love a good LBD, and the stripes add great visual interest. My necklaces are usually crooked too, even when I have someone else take the pictures.

    This is a beautiful dress! And such a great find for only $12 dollars. I love stores like Marshall's for that particular reason. You can find some really great things. The accessories and bright lips really polish off the look. The necklace was the first thing that caught my eye. Such a wonderful outfit!     I love that necklace... and I'm still trying to figure out if I like the dress. The stripes seem plonked into the middle, with no beginning or end I can make sense of. But they really do make you look curvier... hmmm
