Hiking With Aimee

My friend Aimee is super-strong. She's a country girl who chops wood, lifts boulders and walks faster than anyone I know. This weekend Aimee led us on a fun hike along a turbulent river with treacherous cliffs and slippery leaves. It was fun -- when you weren't scared to death. Afterward, we had a delicious meal with her best friend, Dakotah.

Potsdam is far from home but this is why I go back there often.

  2. Wow, that's gorgeous! That sounds like a fun trek - I hope Aimee didn't walk you too hard (I remember you complaining about all the walking we did together! haha!).

  3. You look very happy. Which surrounded by so much fresh and pretty nature, it's be hard not to be. And I'm not even an outdoorsy person and yet! Can appreciate a great place.

  5. Ah, happy smily you! Lovely to think you got to trek with Aimee! Did you feet hurt? I did a trek of 14 miles in Kent a while back and my feet were killing me! The other day we did a 7mile trek i the rain- my feet were fine but I was longing to be home!

    1. My old body used to ache after hikes but I've gotten in better shape so now I can handle the exertion without much pain.

  6. How serenely (harrowing parts of the hike excluded, that is) lovely, Ally. I adore walking and (light) hiking for as much of the year as possible. I feared that the early snow here in October has effectively ended the season to do so in extra soon this time around, but thankfully, the last few days have been a touch warmer and I've been able to get in some more outdoor adventures before winter proper really does set up shop again for the long run.

Happy first week of November wishes, my friend!
