U.S. Mail

Big postal news!

The price of stamps will go DOWN next month. Really, down. I didn't know that ever happened. Letters will cost less (47 cents instead of 49); postcards will cost less (34 cents instead of 35).

Plus, new stamps being issued for Star Trek and Shirley Temple. Isn't Shirley adorable?!

  1. For starters I think its amazing the US has a postal system that works, while in my country is almost unexistent. I think that having Star Wars and Shirley Temple will certainly encourage sales, specially for philatelists.

  2. Hell would be freezing over if that happened here. Our postal service is one of the most expensive in the world I think. And it's not getting any cheaper.

Speaking of which I got a little gifty in the mail today that is pretty nifty friend! : ) I'm going to read that article tonight. Thanks for thinking of me!

  3. In my opinion, it's because what's happened to gas prices. Gas prices affect so much of our lives beyond just driving your car. Also I want those Trek stamps!

    1. True -- the price of gas affects the price of all transportation which affects the price of most consumer products and services. I knew you'd like the Trek stamps!

  5. Need those Star Trek stamps (mostly for Sandy's joy). It's so rare for prices to go down - except of course, right after we bought our last house, in 2001 : >

  6. I am shocked that it's going down since they have been in so much financial trouble. When I was a kid, I loved collecting stamps.

  7. Ooohhh, the Shirley stamp is almost as cute as she was. I so adore the vibrant, diverse stamps that the USPS puts out and serious kudos to them on dropping postage rates a wee bit. If only Canada Post would take a page from their book!

Have a fantastic weekend, my friend,
