Suzanne has a generous spirit and exceptional artistic ability. She used to own a scrapbooking company where she designed her own products. She still creates items but now gives them away to friends. I'm lucky enough to be within that category.
For my birthday, Suzanne sent me handmade notecards and a pretty pin. The pin is a drawing of her pug Zoe. It's an adorable accessory. She has an awfully cute canine. That's the pin above.
I've been waiting for the right outfit to showcase the pug pin and just found one. On a thrift-store trip, I spotted an exotic tuxedo jacket in blue with black lapels. The jacket is so strange that it appeals to me. I grabbed it without any idea how to wear it. Later I stumbled on an Anne Taylor skirt that looks like a million bucks even thought it only cost me $8. The two pieces fit like Mutt and Jeff. Or Suzanne and Zoe.
Here we go... What do you think?
What a great look! Suzanne's cute pin is the perfect accessory.
ReplyDeleteAwww, that is adorable! Suzanne is a very talented lady!x
ReplyDeleteYou're too kind Ally.
ReplyDeleteI'm just delighted you received the package in time for your birthday.
BTW I got that little note you sent today. I LOVE the writing paper! You have quite the stationary collection it seems.
I'm so happy to see you wearing it : ) This ads some whimsy to the outfit. And everyone needs a little pug with them.
You scored big time on that skirt and are looking exceptionally svelte.
bisous
Suzanne
Hmm... this is the first time anyone has called me "svelte." I like it!
DeleteGorgeous pin and it suits that outfit perfectly!!!
ReplyDeleteYou look great, I love the blue of the jacket and the pin adds playfulness to the outfit. Great choice.
ReplyDeleteA while ago I had a blog called 'Tales of Pearls and Petticoats' and I appreciated that you followed me back then. It would be great if you visited my new blog and let me know what you think. http://zapricot.blogspot.nl Thanks!
What a fabulous spin, and your self-created suit is also gorgeous. Suzanne is indeed a treasure, as are you. xo
ReplyDeleteThat jacket is all kinds of fabulous! Very sleek look, I love it!

That's an awesome jacket - it works really well with your naturally broad shoulders, and highlights your fabulous legs. This is the infamous inverted V that was hugely popular in 80s looks - it emulates a man's shape and reflects the women's movement progress of equality in the workplace. You're wearing history!
ReplyDeleteWow! Thanks for the valuable perspective, Sheila. I had no idea.
DeleteIt's cuuuuuute! She has a great Etsy shop too and I love her pug art. ;)
ReplyDeleteOh, that's so sweet of Suzanne. I'm not surprised at all. What a lovely thought. Looks wonderful with the jacket which is a super colour on you. Very elegant!

Oh I just love that pin. It goes with the outfit very well. I know of another Suzanne, and her blog is all about cooking and her pugs. I have to check out your Suzanne's blog.

What a classic, elegant ensemble. I love that you brought some cuteness and whimsy into the fold with Suzanne's awesome brooch. I had no idea that she had worked in the paper crafting industry. That's seriously cool! (I'm a passionate paper crafter myself, though am the first to admit that I don't get near enough time to devote to that love of mine any more these days).
ReplyDeleteI hope that you had a great post-birthday weekend, Ally!

Looks good on you! (suit/pug/all of it)
ReplyDeletethe pug pin add just a hint of whimsy to the outfit...it's fun, and i like it.
ReplyDeleteWell.... this is very good!!! What a splendid outfit. The jacket is just the right length with just the right lapels. A lovely stage for that cute pin of Suzanne.
ReplyDeleteDoing very well Ally. My compliments.
