For six decades, I've dreamed, yearned and wished I could be a little girl. Alas, that was not possible back then. But... live long enough and unexpected possibilities open up.
I spotted this dress on a thrift-store rack and it triggered those feelings. I figured, why not? It's never too late. So here I am, complete with my doll. Her name is Meredith.
Do you ever wish you could return to a younger age?
Ooh, what a lovely dress, Ally! And no, it is never too late to fulfill your dreams. I often dream of going back to the 60s or 70s. xxx
ReplyDeleteThanks. I believe most of us have happy pasts we could return to.
DeleteIt's never too late, indeed! Lovely dress :) and yes, I wish I could go back in time and live my childhood again (with the things I learned growing up, possibly ;-)). Kisses

Thanks, Vale. :)
ReplyDeleteThat is a great dress and it looks wonderful on you. Is there a name for that style of dress?
ReplyDeleteI don't know and I throw your question out to my friends who are more knowledgeable than I am. Guys?
DeleteIt's a very sweet dress.
ReplyDeleteI definitely do regret I didn't have much of a childhood (thanks to absent father and drug addict mother). I'm nearing 30, but still take the time to watch Disney movies and cartoons. It's probably the closest childhood thing i do.
I went through a period where i was certain i had to give up certain things to be an adult. But being an adult? It means you're free to be yourself. Enjoy a doll and dress, enjoy cartoons, enjoy video games or whatever else brings you joy.
My mother in law collected American girl dolls and made clothes for all her grandkids dolls as well. Her age never affected her joy!
It's ironic I had to become an adult before I had the freedom to enjoy childhood. Thanks for your support, Megan.
DeleteI freakin' love this! And the shoes are too perfect with it!
ReplyDeleteThis dress is such a classic- and you look amazing in it! Anything with a Peter Pan collar is just so feminine and chic.

DeleteYour dress looks like something my beloved Clara Oswald would wear- I love it!! I love that picture of you with your doll- you look like you are really cherishing it which is how a doll SHOULD be held! I LOVED my dolls (vintage Barbies and Sindy) and I played with them at my Dad's house right into my teens when I went over there.
