The reason I began this blog a dozen years ago was to explore my femininity with friendly conversation, playful outfits and new friends. That was its raison d'etre.
It still is. The global COVID pandemic interferred, however, by making the process of creating outfit-posts exceptionally difficult. (They are harder than you'd imagine for someone who looks like me.) But not doing them is painful and that ache has been mounting lately. I realize I need to return to creating new outfits no matter how many obstacles stand in my way. I'll leap all of them.
So here's my first effort at a return. Hopefully they'll improve as I re-arrange my personal life. Comments and feedback are always appreciated, so fire away. :)
You look nice. What is your "Escape" destination?
ReplyDeleteIt’s broken my heart that you haven’t felt you could do this in so long because it’s such a necessary part of you and crucial to your well-being. I’m thrilled to hear you’re ready to leap any obstacle until things in your world are situated as such that you don’t feel hindered anymore.
ReplyDeleteI really love this dress and the way it has the shaping from the different panels and the shapes on the print. I think you’ve paired it very elegantly with your accessories and look ready for a fancy dinner out on the town!
Thanks, Jen, for the compassion and advice. You're a doll!
DeleteI feel your pain Ally, I'm at the point were I'm long overdue the need to dress.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos, you look so happy.
Thank you, Lotte. I hope you find your path to joy, too.
DeleteWell done on leaping those obstacles, Ally, and indulge your femininity by creating this fabulous outfit! You look absolutely radiant! xxx
ReplyDeleteThank you, pal. I appreciate your support.
DeleteYES!! Take control of this and make it happen, Ally! I love this dress on you - the side panels help give you that hourglass shape. The jewelry is good - it's the right "weight' for the bold pattern of the dress.
ReplyDeleteWhat's going on with your toes? You're wearing nylons but your toes are bare? I know there are toeless nylons for open-toe shoes, but I think they work better in a "skin" colour. This is a very female dilemma, right?!! I do spy a very chic pedicure, though - well done!
Your hair looks fantastic! The colour and style really suit your face. Brava, my dear friend! You look gorgeous!
Thank you for the feedback, Sheila. I'm using some lessons learned from earlier efforts.
DeleteThe toe-thing is an illusion: they ARE covered by black nylons but my toe-nails are painted white (which is trendy right now) and the polish is reflecting the light. My toes are covered by the same nylons on my legs. I didn't notice this effect in person and first saw its oddness in the pictures.
Oh, well... I wasn't aiming for perfection; just being able to do an outfit-post was my goal. Thanks again.
So glad to see you all dressed up again. I know you've struggled to attain those days where you can find the space and time to be yourself. The world sure got shook up.
ReplyDeleteI like the addition of the leopard bangle. It's both a pattern mix and working as a pop of color.
I think your make up also looks very well done. That lip shade suits you particularly well.
Is the dress a pattern or is it an overlay with cut outs? Either way I love a good dress.
Thank you. It's a pattern.
DeleteI'm SO happy to see you dressed up again!!! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!
ReplyDeleteI like the metallic detailing on the dress! I can live vicariously through you with the fitted shape of this dress as I feel deeply uncomfortable in close fitting dresses on my bottom half! Excellent jewellery choices!

Thanks, pal.
DeleteI'm glad you felt like returning to getting all dolled up! Red lips are perfection with a black dress.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sweetie.
