On my way home from court yesterday, I stopped at my favorite thrift-store. Just to look. I saw this conservative skirt-suit with a cute rounded collar. It was brand new and only $7. I thought seven bucks was worth an experiment. I want to see how demure I can look on the outside.
What does this outfit make me look like? I don't know. A real estate broker? An office worker? A Real Housewife of Long Island? Tell me the impression you get from it. Thanks!
I LOVE the colour and the cut on you, Ally! I wouldn't call this demure (I associate that word with youth and innocence, whereas this is more of a conservative look to me). I think you could be a businesswoman in this! You'd certainly fit in as a Director or VP in the IT industry!
ReplyDeleteI think you could easily wear this to court (at least a small town court, like I've been in with my boss). A skirt suit goes a lot of places.
ReplyDeleteI see teacher on back-to-school night. This fits you like a dream.
ReplyDeleteI think it says 'professional' which covers many jobs. Love the pleats on the collar and the fit on you.
ReplyDeleteGreat color on you. I love skirt suits! I cannot believe the price!

I see corporate exec, but with the courage to do purple instead of gray. She's earned her place in the world. And she's a helluva shopper! xo

The collar and cuffs and colour and fit make this.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely a superior shopper as Patti says.
A professional with a twist.

Hey, that fits me! "A professional with a twist." Might be the title to my autobiography.
DeleteAdd pearls and you have a first lady.
ReplyDeleteThe colour is stunning.
ReplyDeleteI see Mad Men with this. You are Roger Sterling's office secretary. Keep the scotch glasses filled.
bisous
Suzanne
I like that!
DeleteThat color is so great! It looks pretty professional.
ReplyDeleteI also see you as a retro style secretary, Mad Men style =) Very cool ! Kisses

Real estate broker fits the suit quite well, I'd say!

My 1st impression? First lady!! <3 this look on you (also can see a real estate broker).
ReplyDeleteHope you have a fabulous weekend!! XOXO
I like First Lady! Thanks for the useful feedback. Now I just need to flirt with Bernie Sanders. :-)
DeleteI love the color! You always find the best things. I haven't been shopping in awhile, not even the thrift store! I can't wait for you to visit. I am going to drag you to all of my favorite places and take a billion pics and go on adventures! :D
ReplyDeleteI can't wait! I'm so excited!
DeleteLove this suit, the collar an the color, gerat bargain, too! I Think.. I think, a talk show host, and like how I would love to see Lori Grenier ( sp?) dress on Shark Tank.
ReplyDeleteMaybe gorgeous Alicia on the good wife would wear this, or maybe ,more likely, her partner, Diane LockHart with a killer gold choker!

First thing that came to my mind was The First Lady!!!
ReplyDeleteThis looks great on you. As for the impression it gave me, it looks like what a fun, bubbly real estate agent might opt for.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful color! The suit is very First Lady :)
ReplyDeleteMy first impression? Wife of a Republican presidential candidate (not Trump, someone from the bible-belt), a bit conservative, with a carefully crafted image to appeal to the target demographic, loaded... The rebellious streak is (almost) completely concealed and comes out only in the choice of jewelry.
ReplyDeleteI like your impression, Tiina. Thanks!
DeleteI love it! Its classic and the colour is beautiful! You could wear this out with a little bling and a coloured shoe - perfect hat outfit!
ReplyDeleteGoodness, is this lovely, Ally (I'd totally wear it, too). My blink thought is that you look like an extremely well dressed college/university professor. My second is that you're a city council woman. No matter what, it's elegant and so very pretty.
