Lots of places call themselves the "best", but most are merely using hyperbole. There is, however, one place that sells fruit pies here that is the best. The world's best. Their pies are stuffed with ripe fruit, made with fresh ingredients, and baked daily. Eating one is like tasting Heaven.
I rode there yesterday. It's a 100-mile roundtrip but worth the time. I had Peach Cherry Pie for dinner. Lots and lots of pie.
My motorcycle is in the foreground of the above picture. More pics are below.
Do you like pie?
I LOVE pie. You are speaking my language. I love baking pie, but it is a lot of work, so I love trying good pie from area bakeries. The best I've found is actually in Northern Minnesota near Duluth, which sadly means I don't get to enjoy it very often, but it's amazing pie. My girlfriends and I took a weekend up there one year and we totally did pie for dinner too. Nothing wrong with that at all!
ReplyDeleteoh good gravy where is this?!! Please oh please be waaaaaaaay too far for me to drive...

It's on the east end of Long Island, about 80 miles from NYC.
DeleteI love pie and appreciate it when i come across one.
ReplyDeleteYou made me hungry, it's almost lunch time.
that is some good pie worthy of a 100 mile trip! peach, cherry pie - I haven't even heard of this yum, sounds like heaven, I like rhubarb or apple with custard (it's being called creme anglais lately! but my favourite comes out of a tin, so posh!) x x
ReplyDeleteAlly - you need to taste my peach pie ;)
ReplyDeleteI'll be right over!
DeleteI love pie, especially when I bake them myself, but oh goodness, I don't like having a whole pie in the house with me, because I will eat nothing else until it's finally gone.
ReplyDeleteI love chicken pie! You've made me want one right now...although I don't know if that would be a good idea since it is first thing in the morning here! That big corn is too much fun. It reminds me of the big potato that I visited last year.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a pretty fine supper to me! I like all pie - steak and kidney, pork, chicken and Saskatoon pie is my favourite to round off a meal of pie. :o)
ReplyDeleteOoooh it looks gorgeous! I'll be honest though, I'm not a pie fan. I've never met a crust I liked. I'll just take the filling (hot) with a side of ice cream.
ReplyDeleteI usually agree with you and ignore crusts but the ones from this place are so light, delicate and tasty they're worth eating.
DeleteOh my, now I definitely want a piece of pie "stuffed with ripe fruit"! I was weaned on pie.
ReplyDeleteThat pie looks DELICIOUS!!!! Certainly worth the round trip!!! I would love to taste it.
ReplyDeleteI love pie, any kind of fruit pie. I'm such a sweet tooth
ReplyDeletei'm more of a cobbler girl...give me some peach cobbler on a hot summer's day and we'll be friends for life.
ReplyDeleteComing right up!
DeleteOMG pie! I have been craving pie like mad! There used to be a diner in Royal Oak when I lived there, they had loads of different kinds of pies daily! I would go there to study, eat pie, and drink coffee. Then they closed down. We don't have many diners here, because we have coney islands instead. So therefore, not a lot of pie!
ReplyDeleteAnywho, peach cherry pie sounds like an amazing combination! I will have to try to make that next summer!
i'm not huge on pie, except for pumpkin! but i can appreciate a good slice from time to time. best part for me is the crust...i sometimes pick out the fruit (apple for example) so that i can enjoy just the crust!

I need that pie in my mouth!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteFresh baked goods are the best!
ReplyDeleteMy friends are actually planning on having pies instead of cake for their wedding. (So them!)
Of course I like pie. Coconut Cream is my favorite. Homemade of course. I like Apple Crumb pie, too. Not a huge fan of fruit pies in general (prefer cake), which must be why I like crumb toppings best.
