The Generosity Of Friends

When I gave a camera to my friend Emma, I didn't expect anything in return.  I was happy just seeing her grow as a blogger.  If you've been following Emma's blog -- and you should! -- you've seen how much her pictures have improved and how deeply she's dove into learning new skills.

So I was totally surprised when a box arrived on my doorstep today.  Shoes!  Emma bought me shoes.  That's the FIRST time anyone has ever given me shoes.  Because of my ginormous feet, it's hard for me to find women's shoes that fit.  You really need to search for some -- and sweet Emma did.

These blue beauties are lovely.  They have a reflective silver heel.  The shoes will get lots of use in my future outfits.

I'm also wearing another gift -- thigh-high stockings from Bella.  The stockings were a gift for which I've been waiting to find the right occasion.  Today is it.

    I received my first gift of shoes from Amber. I have your opposite problem and thanks to a shipping mistake, she gifted them onto me!

    Friends really are the best. I'm learning more and more how awesome the internet can be with putting you in touch with real friends.

    I feel like as soon as I have two friends who wear a size 11 my stores stop carrying them! I used to find many size 11s at my GW, but now it's trending to the size 9s.

    I'm so glad you've found a circle of other great positive people and you all have a lovely circle of friendship and energy going on. :D It's one of the best things in life when that happens.

      Actually, I'm a size 12, Sheila. While I sometimes squeeze into 11's out of necessity, I can't walk in them. Too painful.

    A.D.O.R.A.B.L.E. shoes and Emma for finding them for you. I have a problem getting ladies shoes as well as in South Africa the largest easily available shoes are a smidgen too small and then if I do find the next size up (which are like hen's teeth) they are a bit too big! So I know how you feel dear Ally!

    I also LOVE getting gifts from friends!

    And I'm not surprised that the generosity and kindness you put out into the world comes back to you!

    It is wonderful to receive packages in the mail. One of my closest friends and I communicate primarily between email and exchanging movies, books, fabric, fun little things like stickers and candy through the mail.
