War causes tragedy. We should never forget that.
Recently I walked through "Pinelawn," a U.S. National Cemetery near me. I saw the grave of a young man who was killed in Vietnam fifty years ago (shown below).
Sadly, he died on the day before his 21st birthday. War robbed him of an entire adult life.
So many might have beens .... sigh

ReplyDeleteI find cemeteries paradoxically calming and so sad. Especially the old ones with all the kids.

Each year, we visit some of the WW1 cemeteries in Flanders Fields and cannot help but shed a tear at all those lives cut short. The war to end all wars, they said ... xxx
