I visited the famous Corning Museum of Glass. In addition to teaching you about glass, the museum displays beautiful artwork made by contemporary artists using glass.
It's world-famous. Corning, the company, developed all kinds of glass products, like Pyrex and has a long history with glass. Their corporate headquarters is next door to the museum.
Have you seen the show "Blown Away" on Netflix, Ally? It's a glass blowing competition show (without all the attendant Drama), and it's just incredible the pieces they make...and break!
It was mentioned at the museum with some pieces from some of the show's contestants. I haven't seen it yet (but heard about it) and will check it out soon.
It's so amazing what people can do with glass- just the talent is astounding! My creativity is not extended to working with mediums like this, so I'm always amazed at what people are able to do!
Ah, such BEAUTIFUL glass pieces! I really enjoyed watching the show "Blown Away" on Netflix- it was amazing to seee what can be done with glass! I think this may be the museum they talked about on the show!
This is so cool! I didn't know there was a museum of glass, but I would be totally down to check it out sometime. So beautiful.
