My Blog Is Haunted

I think my blog is haunted.

A few weeks ago, I started seeing a faint image of a teenage girl wearing Colonial-era clothes on my blog. She'd appear, disappear, and come back. I wasn't sure what was going on.

Then messages started popping up. "I wish I could have worn that..." "We weren't allowed to show our ankles." Comments full of sad longing. I felt sorry for her.

Lately, however, she's turned snarky. "That belt with those shoes? Really?!" I was surprised at the change in tone. I PM'd her on Twitter and asked, "Why are you messing with me? Isn't there someone more deserving of abuse?" She half-heartedly apologized and said she was bored. "Eternity isn't the jam you think it's gonna be. Grrl's gotta spice it up." Apparently, when some teenage girls have too much time on their hands, they say mean things.

Has this ever happened to you? I'm thinking of getting an exorcism when the Pope comes to town.

  1. What???!!! Yes, teenage girls are total bitches, like 'real housewives' type bitches, and the only way to get rid of them is to block them, you can't negotiate with bitches (because they stab you in the back). And the Pope... Well, I'm not catholic but he's not exactly an expert on women, let alone bitches...

  5. :) I hope she is not in a vengeful mood on All Hallow's Eve, when she can cross over into the real world!!

Oh no, I think I just creeped myself out.

  6. Ugh! She sounds like a pain. You've reminded me of why I don't teach middle or high school (although 4th graders can be pretty accomplished at stirring up girl drama).
If you can't wait for the Pope, you should try turning off the wi-fi for a a few days and ridding the house of all junk food ... that might scare her off!

  7. Perhaps you should kill this snarky specter with kindness, so to speak, and invite her over for a Halloween party this year. :)

  8. I see snarkiness start already with girls in my daughter's grade (she's 8). We try so hard to make sure she's a kind person, but I'm afraid at some point she will have a mean spurt, too. I know I did, and I consider myself a pretty nice person. I don't know why it happens, and it's not right, but know that the words of strangers are just thatm words, and it's the love of your friends that really matters. But words hurt....it's the truth. Sorry you had to be the victim of the teenage girl.

  11. I was mean to my German teacher when I was 15 -not overtly but about him to my friends (we were all mean about him) and I wish I could go back and tell him what a good teacher he was and how I was sorry I was an horrid ungrateful girl and he was right, I DID go on to do A'level German and it was my favourite subject. Mr Kirby, please forgive me, wherever you are!x

  12. Well essentially teenage girls are just mean. And usually it's based off of what is going on in their home but they don't know how to talk about it. Don't take it personally, even thought it's hard not too. As a teenager, they really don't have a solid opinion on anything, even though some would say they do. Can you remember when you were a teen? I know I was dumb as a teen, sheesh I was still a bit dumb in my early 20's lol. You grow up and you learn. Keep doing what makes you happy.

  13. Sorry to hear that this has happened to you. Unfortunately mean teens often grow up to become mean women..shrug it off...do you thing as always! Unless your haunter/stalker wants to take on some of your bill payments, then their commentary doesn't matter. Peace and love darling!

  14. It's the internet people feel they have free reign. Best to let it roll of your back. Let it rain, wash it out.

No need for a visit from the Pope, a thing you can count on with teenage girls , they are mercurial .. Soon enough she will come around and make nice. That belt and shoes she hated together , well she is so going to love it. Can I barrow that belt...she will whine.... PLeeeeease....
Maybe you should call the exorcist after all ...

  18. Welcome to the world of women! I don't get why people are focusing on the fact that it's a teenage girl. Bitchy, moody women comes in all ages. They're just more passive aggressive if they're older.

  19. wow, sorry you had to deal with this.. you never know.. it may not even have been a teenage girl.. people do strange things anonymously... could be anyone. Sad that they are spending time on negativity vs positive outlets.

  20. I don't even understand what you're saying...how can faint images appear on your blog??? or disappear? Does that mean someone, somehow hacked into it? I get the messages, sad and then mean. Can't you just blocked the address? I don't get the twitter part, but I don't have twitter, so that's why.
Won't writing a post about it, just feed into it?

    1. My apologies to you and the others who didn't realize that this post is a joke. I'm making fun of the impossibility of a blog being haunted. Houses, yes; blogs, no. I'm just having some light-hearted fun.
