I was shopping this week and saw the most amazing scarf. A beautiful hue of orange with yellow accents. I snapped it up and built today's outfit around it. Yes, normally a scarf is the last thing you throw on an existing outfit but, today, this scarf takes center-stage. It is the reason for the outfit and the centerpiece.
What do you think? Do you wear scarves for fashion?

Yes, Ally looks great. And scarves are such a great accessory, different weights for different temperatures. There are so many great vintage finds and they are a whole textbook of colour mixing as well. You can do the gamut of classic, glamour, boho, chic.....

Wow, Ally! You are a mega-dose of Vitamin C in this outfit - love all the energetic citrus hues! I love a great scarf - it's a wonderful way to make a simple outfit look intentional. :) It's too hot here for scarves right now, but I'm looking forward to wearing mine when it cools down.

I wear scarves a lot! My favorites are silk rectangles, worn long in front, but I also wear large squares, folded into a right triangle and worn loosely tied about the neck. Somehow the colors are richer and more interesting on silk, although I do have some good polyester ones too. I use mine to jazz up a boring outfit, and to improve my figure visually (round faces and round torsos look a little slimmer with long scarves or long bold necklaces). Have you considered mascara? (Or false eyelashes?) Your makeup would sing with that finishing touch. I am fair-skinned like you, and my eyes get lost without my mascara, eyeliner and brow pencil to add definition.
ReplyDeleteGood suggestions for makeup. I've tried false eyelashes and they enhance my face greatly, but are very difficult to apply. Mascara doesn't do much for me. I need to learn how to apply eyeliner which is hard in my case because my upper lids hang over my eyeline and obscure it. I need skilled advice on these subjects. Thank you for your suggestions which are all on target.

I am a big scarf freak; I have probably in excess of a hundred of them. They're wonderfully thriftable little luxuries, often in the most luscious of materials. Nice little style statements on many a very ordinary outfit for me.
