Gratitude
The same thing can mean different things to different people. Giving a poor person a car can change their life while giving the same vehicle to a rich man might merely make him yawn.
Your visits to my blog affect my life. In a huge way. Your presence and support give me courage to explore new territory, break social taboos and pursue my dreams. If it wasn't for your compassionate embrace of this blog, I wouldn't be half as happy as I am now. I smile now, frequently and deeply, knowing people care and accept me. That wasn't true a decade ago. Or for most of my life.
I don't know what the future holds but I know that my present is immeasurably improved by your friendship. Every person willing to listen to a rare bird like me is doing an act of kindness. And when you let me play in the sandbox with you, wearing and discussing pretty clothes, my heart bursts with joy.
Thank you. From the heart.
I'm first!! And let me be the first to say that you are so lovely and inspiring! Thanks to YOU for sharing!

ReplyDeleteAlly--you are an inspiration and you are always such a positive person encouraging others!!

Me, too.
DeleteI think you give out as much joy as you receive, Ally. :)
ReplyDeleteI hope so. You guys deserve it.
DeleteYep, what Carrie said.
DeleteYou're a breath of fresh air. You exude happiness and courage, which is why people are so attracted to you and affected by you. You make all of our lives better just for being in it.
I'm grateful for meeting you through blogging Ally! You're a cool person :)
ReplyDeleteP.S. - Please take some time to read about what is happening in my country, Greece. Democracy, freedom of speech and people's basic human rights are violated in many ways. One of them is shutting down our Public Television... If you feel the same way, please sign this petition.
So good to hear from you, dimi! And I read about that public television thing in the newspaper: how horrible. My best wishes to your struggling country.

ReplyDeleteThis is a great community here isn't it? I think a lot of people feel the way you do for various reasons, I know I can relate to it. ReplyDeleteAlly, your playful happy attitude about life spills out of each one of your blog posts. Thank you for making a space at which all of us feel welcome and invited in to share your delight in pretty clothes, cars, photos, and more.
ReplyDeleteEloquently, touchingly said, dear Ally. Thank you in turn for your online friendship, inspiration, wisdom and the sense of joie de vivre that you approach fashion with.
ReplyDelete♥ Jessica
You are an incredible person and, although I don't discuss the clothing aspect, I enjoy your posts and your happiness sure does spill out of every post you put up.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your life with us!!!
I think I can write this publicly without upsetting you, my sister reads my blog and finds it more than weird that you follow and comment on it. Not everyone will approve but it's not up to them to decide. We're all sharing ourselves with everyone here even if we don't always get support for it
ReplyDeleteThanks, buddy. I know I confuse and even upset some people. That goes with the territory of being different. Hopefully exposure to people like me will cause some to become more comfortable with the idea of our difference.
DeleteThis is beautiful. You are very welcome. I get so much joy from reading your lovely comments on my blog and from being able to share in your story here. So thank you. I'm so happy we found each others blogs this year
