Extreme Fashion


Earlier today, Bonnie tweeted this picture and asked if anyone would wear this in real life.

Would you?  With carefully applied tape?

(I'd wear it to a fancy party, but I'm not a good example of female propriety...)

    I'd probably wear it to a convention or appropriate party. But the level of appropriate convention/party/rave wear is SIGNIFICANTLY different than what I'd wear in real life. Costuming has a lot more leeway than "normal life", so I tend to view things through a much different scope than the average dresser.

    I personally have no issues with extremely low-cut tops. I don't have overly large ta-tas so I feel like it's a little easier to get away with it.

    Now to actually comment on the outfit - that's basically two straps of fabric. I think it'd benefit from maybe a middle strap somewhere in there for a wee bit more coverage. And maybe some penciled in eyebrows.

    With a black, long-sleeved shirt under it, perhaps. The draped silver stuff looks intriguing but it's also a problem, it looks like it would seriously limit arm movement at least on one side!

    If I looked like that, I would wear it everywhere. I would only have that in my wardrobe and burn the rest of my clothes. IF I looked like that. But I don't, so I would never ever wear that in public.

    No, but I do love the greys, & what looks of metal... monochromatic theme. Definitely needs a bit more cloth, or perhaps we could use that draped piece that they made a sash! :)

    I think it would be great if you starred in a sci-fi movie (something with the word "inter-galactic" in it) , but that's about it! I could never wear anything like that, boobies all over the place... And I have to say to Tracy that the lady in the pic looks good in it because she is as flat as an ironing-board - we don't want that, do we?? Maybe lady Gaga can save the day?

I just read the story Miranda July wrote for the New Yorker, and as a product of the occasional shoplifting thrill and a young lady entering so-called-adulthood, I completely related to the story. MJ is one of my all-time favorite writers/artists/filmmakers. Are you familiar with any of her other work? What do you think?

    Elle, I'm still undecided about my Halloween costume. I tried out a fun cupcake costume on the blog a little while ago, but that's not my final choice.
