(I do this kind of thing on a regular basis, hence I coined the term "to frankenstein"... :) Looks like all you'll need is one seam... and you could leave the short dress complete in lieu of an underskirt.

Cheers,
poetpoethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00187001501919334157noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4885867892898159023.post-90469173127998911112010-11-06T14:20:31.722-04:002010-11-06T14:20:31.722-04:00hee hee ..... just go down to the 5 & dime and...hee hee ..... just go down to the 5 & dime and get a big box of safety pins. use them instead of the bobby pins and you're good to go!

learning to sew is just a god send, especially for those of us that don't have much luck in 'off the rack' sizes. i can't recommend it enough. you'll have a blast, too! happy belated!! stephtinyjuncohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03614867046924013061noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4885867892898159023.post-49602980481655701702010-11-04T14:40:37.314-04:002010-11-04T14:40:37.314-04:00Thanks, Sara, for the terms.

I think what you are attempting will be pretty simple as long as the zipper or closure on the back of the top doesn't have to be cut. And as long as you can get the skirt part over hips or your head and shoulders when putting on the whole dress.

I can't wait to see what you do too.sara starhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04826686885318466824noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4885867892898159023.post-56017669766200545782010-11-04T13:20:53.686-04:002010-11-04T13:20:53.686-04:00There has to be a better word for one who sews tha...There has to be a better word for one who sews than "sewer" -- who wants to be a sewer?!Shybikerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15263331247319768989noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4885867892898159023.post-13364512048366483002010-11-04T11:20:39.275-04:002010-11-04T11:20:39.275-04:00i think its a great idea to combine the 2 dresses....i think its a great idea to combine the 2 dresses. im a horrible sewer tho...Isabelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07326276816573114316noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4885867892898159023.post-61031455343203700782010-11-04T10:02:24.169-04:002010-11-04T10:02:24.169-04:00Such a great idea! :) When I'll get tired of t...Such a great idea! :) When I'll get tired of two dresses or maybe a top and a skirt, I'll definitely try to make a new dress :) Too bad I'm only learning how to sew on a sewing machine but even hand sewn items still look great (but it's much harder to sew).
Show us some pictures when you'll finish (or if you feel like it, do a mini tutorial, so that all of us can learn something).

Thank you for your comments on my blog and for following me! :)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16138778397243181120noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4885867892898159023.post-37486683221652401312010-11-04T09:30:35.265-04:002010-11-04T09:30:35.265-04:00It's very interesting (I love the ruffles!) an...It's very interesting (I love the ruffles!) and I'm pretty sure it will look great when sewn together.
