You can get cheese and bread, or desserts. The cheese fondues are my favorite! I've never made fondue, but from some of the recipes I've seen, it seems pretty simple. :) Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05759084742694396300noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4885867892898159023.post-51185224722507562452014-02-10T18:02:48.022-05:002014-02-10T18:02:48.022-05:00I have the chocolate fondue maker as well, haven&#...I have the chocolate fondue maker as well, haven't been using it for ages but you made me wanna use it again. My favorite cheese fondue recipe is this one: http://www.food.com/recipe/the-melting-pot-wisconsin-trio-cheese-fondue-361384. My advice: Whatever you do, buy good, high-quality cheese. The Kraft pre-shredded ones don't melt well at all. (Speaking from experience.)

And I know a few of those artists! Does the Janis Ian album have "At Seventeen" on it? The garlic idea is terrific (plus I love its flavor); mixing cheeses is better; using quality wine counts; and a touch of nutmeg is recommended. I have 3 different fondue pots, one for cheese, one for oil or broth and another for chocolate. I think cheese is my favourite and then chocolate. Sometimes if you're not careful the cheese can roll up into one big messy ball if not heated correctly.

We used to take a clove of garlic, cut it in half and then wipe it all around the inside of the pot we were going to use with the exposed half. That'll flavour your pot a bit. Make sure you choose the right kind of cheese for melting and a combo is usually better than just one kind of cheese. Also, don't go cheap on the wine. It'll make a difference. I also think we added a tiny pinch of nutmeg. Added some depth.

Have fun!

bisous

SuzanneSuzannehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03891315017218863243noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4885867892898159023.post-8005339014976047642014-02-09T10:14:46.652-05:002014-02-09T10:14:46.652-05:00V-Day is perfect for fondue!
