The earrings were a great choice instead of a necklace. You have a real gift for styling. I agree with others that the belt could be different to help the overall look. I'm using a very similar logic to explain why I'm thinking of wearing a slightly crazy dress to a wedding out of province where I barely know anyone.

If you love it, that's all that matters. I would like to see how you'd style the belt in a more sedate manner. I've avoided bright belts not knowing how to make them workCarahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05841483032637664853noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4885867892898159023.post-46220652643641039632011-10-08T08:58:27.104-04:002011-10-08T08:58:27.104-04:00Thanks, guys. Yes, I ...Thanks, guys. I appreciate your feedback.

Yes, I knew going in that the dress is age-inappropriate (I hate that phrase) and, yes, I knew the belt was too much (obviously) -- but I figured: if not me, then who? I'm free to dress like a crazy person 'cause I'm not going out in public like you do. So this is really more of a fashion experiment than a choice for real-life wear.

That said, as an experiment, it works better than I expected. Several of you confirm this when you say "actually..." and then give some begrudging compliment you didn't think you were going to say.

Because of the asymmetry of the dress, I didn't think a necklace would work so, instead, I chose dangly earrings. I like that decision.

And, just to further explain myself, did you know I already had TWO pairs of purple tights?! The dark ones work much better with this; they don't compete with the dress.Shybikerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15263331247319768989noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4885867892898159023.post-3224777671539057232011-10-07T23:26:16.647-04:002011-10-07T23:26:16.647-04:00i think its a bit too young. id try wearing it wit...i think its a bit too young. id try wearing it with a black sweater on top so that it looks like a skirt. that might make it a bit more age appropriate. although my visual merchandising teacher says"what the hell is age appropriate?! if you look hot then rock it!"

haha so. i say if u like it then thats what matters!Isabelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07326276816573114316noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4885867892898159023.post-24881961561370386062011-10-07T22:54:21.556-04:002011-10-07T22:54:21.556-04:00I actually like the shape of the dress on you. Playing with loud prints means toning down other accessories that might 'fight' for outfit dominance.

I wouldn't wear leopard print period. But that's just personal style preference. I wore a tiger-like print today, and only own that because of a swap! I tend to skew more to reptilian prints..
